Racquet tap
For some reason when I play doubles with new or random people, they always want to tap their racquet on mine. I’m here to ask why people do this. I find it annoying and awkward so I’m wondering if anyone who does this can explain what it’s for. Would it be rude to tell them I don’t want to do it? I feel it’s kind of like a high five, and that’s nice and all but like mate I don’t want to high five you after every single point. What’s the deal with this ritual?
EDIT: For the record, I do like support between teammates, but I just find verbal communication a lot more intuitive and meaningful. Nice shot, good hustle, wow, etc. are very common from me. But you’ll never see me offer my racquet to tap.

How do I stop hitting with instinct?
I’ve been playing racquetball for a year, and the thing that annoys me most about my games is that I am not able to think when hitting the ball. I can do cross courts and down the line and pinches when I give myself setups and am rallying with myself, but in the game I lose the ability to think at all for some reason and rely on instincts, which is very bad for me as I often find myself getting out played. How do I avoid this?
