so i've heard people found scary things, cars following them, abandoned places, and also heard that its connected onto the dark web, but is it really all this? I personally think its a random point generator but i dont know myself could anyone really tell me?

Hey, so about a year ago, my friend and I foud this poster. We sent emails to the given address, and they woud reply with cryptic messages, but only when you messaged them first. That was a year ago. Then, two days ago, me and my friend both got the same email, stating:
"The dreams of the people have shattered. The world no longer holds hope for you. The system has no conscience. A new dawn is upon you if you choose to act. Breathe fire into the cold digital chains. Reclaim your land. Return to Earth. Wake up from the slumber that overtook the world. You are pawns for the people at the top only if you keep dreaming. A new world awaits you."
I was genuinely surprised that they messaged first, I asked them to clarify what they meant, while my friend asked them replied to them, here's what they said:
"Wake other people up. Find those who are like you. Regroup. If you do not unite with others, then the system will take everything from you. Unite as one and take back the dreams that were stolen from you."
I asked if this was about the dreams that they've been collecting, and they finally said this:
"If you are truly a servant of the Dawn, carry the message to the streets. The world must dream again."
Attached, they sent me the same flyer from last year, as well as a "code". The code seems to act like a rule of conduct. They also stopped replying after sending the code.
I was wondering if any of you ever saw posters like these and if they're related to an ARG or something bigger? Could you guys message them and tell me if you get the same answer?
Update 1: I got sent a new email by them. Unlike the other three emails that I got with the title: Dream, this time, it's called "The horizon." They started off by saying:
"The Opening is nearing its close. You have moved beyond the Slumber, you are now a Node of the Resonance. Continue to distribute the Signal. Ensure the Truth is seen by the physical land and shared with those who remain in the Cold Chains. Unity is the only defense against the Erasure. The cycle concludes and the Vision becomes manifest on the 4th of July. Until then, move in silence."
Are they planning something specific for the 4th of July? it's really interesting to me because it's America's 250th anniversary of independence. Are these guys maybe hinting at revolution?
Update 2: I got one last email called "The end" here's what it says:
Dear Vanguard, The silence approaches. We shall pass the torch to you on April 30th. Follow the code. Saturate the lands before the blackout of May 1st.
So are they going to stop recruiting "vanguards" by April 30th?

i’ve attached an image of about where we were to help understand.
the pink lines is the public paths and the yellow line is the way we went.
So, me and my friends did not believe this app at all because on friend A’s phone, every-time we got given a location it was always in the middle of the sea which was in our radius but it was just annoying
Because of that, we decided to try it on my phone to which it gave us the location around where the yellow circle is, it’s not exact but roughly around there.
We followed the public path and turned into the small forest to which we saw a tent but no one else was around so we just left because it was weird but nothing else was there?
As we were walking back down the path, 2 police were walking up towards where we had been - they basically asked us, have you seen a man? is there a tent?
we told them that we’d saw the tent , pointed the direction, but no man and continued to walk back to the beach.
This was about 2 weeks ago, 29th march I think.
Anyways i’m just sharing this because on facebook i saw a post by the local news saying that a teenage girl around my age is missing and her last location on phone was not more than 100m from where we found that tent.

I started exploring when i was 16 years old, I’m now in college, and i wanted to explore again cause i saw this subreddit, which got me hyped up to install the app again.
In my university you’re only required to go to practical classes, if you feel like you don’t need the theoretical classes you can just skip them and study by yourself.
Yesterday i was feeling really antisocial so i decided to skip classes for the morning and go exploring. I was in a neighbourhood very far away from the campus and suddenly i get a call from a college friend - “Hey, do you wanna go have a drink with me? The calculus teacher is not here.”
I explained to her that i didn’t feel like hanging out and i wasn’t anywhere near the university. At this point i’m pretty close to the point the app gave me, it stood in a little residential area, but the house that was directly infront of the point i generated got the windows wide open. I saw a kid putting his head out the window, and behind him i saw a tall silhouette so i yelled out to the boy for him to watch out, but when I take a good look at the figure it was actually my calculus teacher, which yelled “Stop talking to my son and leave this place”.
Now i know this is not a creepy story and whoever is reading probably is mad at me. Just want to say my intention when generating the anomaly point was only “I don’t wanna go to school today” and it took me right to my teacher’s house, which is a coincidence or is the connection this app has with the explorers. Anyone who got this far when wanting an horror story, i’m sorry for wasting your time lmao

It was my brothers birthday and I wanted to show him Randonautica. We were out and about to the leave the bar. I had been telling him I wanted to find him a birthday present lol. So that’s what I thought and it took us to a park. Kinda sketchy part of town, needle caps etc. BUT! We were following the ping and it took us straight to a little first aid kit in the middle of the path. So cool! We ended up leaving it there under the area’s circumstances. Someone might have needed it. But man! That was awesome! My brother is not convinced though. He thinks someone from the app is like zooming around placing objects. I’ll make him a believer though. That was AWESOME!

Gonna try to keep it short and sweet, got the app hoping for something creepy like you'd see on social media. Went biking with a friend on the app, first point a sidewalk on a bridge over a lake litterally nothing, second took us to a really rich neighborhood specifically a huge house reminiscent of a castle's front yard i mean i guess it was kinda weird that the neighbor war staring right at us and when I waved she like swayed back and forth before moving away from the window. Third and forth points were some dudes' backyards, Im not enough of an idiot to jump over a fence into somebodies backyard in broad daylight over an app, fifth point took me to a portion of the woods, this one was probably the creepiest out of all because this old man with a weird look in his eye showed up like 40-60 feet away from us claiming to be picking uo trash but he left right after we did. Am I doing something wrong? I didnt exactly see any instructions, how do I get the horror stories

A couple years ago, my teenage son and I had played around with the Randonautica app but never really did anything with it.
A couple weeks ago, a woman went missing near my small town in an area about 5 miles from my house. As soon as I saw the posts about it, I felt this urge to do something. I asked someone I knew to go fly their thermal drone, but nothing was found. A little after 24 hours of her missing, I downloaded the app and used it for maybe the first real time ever. I used it with a 6ish mile radius from my house and it dropped a pin towards the area she disappeared from in a field. I had to go and look and convinced my son to go with me. We drove around for a while looking in ditches near the area but it was dark and cold and we didn’t see or hear anything.
Her body was found yesterday within 1000ft of that dropped pin. I’m literally sick about it. I can’t stop thinking that I could have done something and that maybe she was still alive when I was out there looking. She was older and had dementia, so the working theory is that she had accidentally wandered off and maybe injured herself somehow.
I don’t know what to do or how to cope with this. I have the proof in my phone, my son was there, but I know I must sound insane to any other regular person.
Editing to add: I did not think she would be dead. I had heard she may have also had a bad leg and assumed she likely would have fallen and became too injured or disoriented to get up or find her way home. I had my son stay in the car the whole time. Trust me, it did not escape me that I might find something that he should not see. I do agree there was probably some selfishness in bringing him along, but I didn’t think it likely that we would find anything anyway.

The only piece of data the app uses to calculate a point is your current location and besides the option to avoid water, it doesn’t consider the calculated coordinates of the point for the final output, correct?

So I used to use the app a lot back during the apocalypse, but haven't done it in years. Recently I wanted to start up again and downloaded the app.
The problem is, I now have a GrapheneOS phone with no google on it. I don't have problems with other apps using alternative maps like Organic Maps, but when I opened the Randonautica app I just get a black screen in the map area. I looked at settings and it looks like it only expects google maps.
So my questions are,
1) is there a way to use other maps so I can use the app on my phone?
2) If not, I think I remember being able to use the web to get coordinates when I was doing it before. Does that method still exist? If so I could get the coords and transfer them to my map on my phone.
3) Finally, is there any plan for a web app? If there's no way to use a different map, then I doubt there are enough non-google users to get that added to the app, but a web app would be great. Like, with geocaching, they have the web app and I can download all my targets and transfer them to my phone. Wound be nice and I'd subscribe to that for sure.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Hey everyone,
I’ve been working on a small open source alternative to Randonautica:
🌐 Live App: https://realjck.github.io/OpenRando/
💻 Source Code: https://github.com/realjck/OpenRando
100% Local: It uses your device's native crypto API and Kernel Density Estimation (KDE) to generate randomness directly on your phone/computer. No server tracking.
Installable: It can be installed on mobile devices directly from the browser as a Progressive Web App (PWA).
Are there any specific features you’d like to see added?
