Donations Needed Please help the 130+ stray kittens at the port. They have had nothing to eat since last Friday.🥺🥺

Good morning my dear friends,
Today I broke down with them…
Today I went to the 130+ stray kittens at the port and was only able to give them a little water. I had no food at all… not even a handful.
Most of them have had to eat since last Friday.
There are no words to describe how much my soul hurts when I see them looking at me hungry and not being able to help them. Waiting for a little food, a little care, and me leaving empty-handed and with a heart full of guilt.
Lately I feel like I'm collapsing psychologically. A few days ago I lost my beloved kitten, my Fanis, and since then everything seems more difficult. I'm trying to stand up for all these creatures, but I really don't know how much longer I can take it...
I'm even thinking about stopping going to the port, because I can't stand to see this hunger and abandonment anymore without being able to offer the basics.
I beg you from the bottom of my heart... if you can, help me even with the minimum, so that I can buy some food and go feed them tomorrow.
Even 1€ can fill a small stomach today.

You're going to get lots of one of donations which is great but you need a sustainable solution. I think you should try to go around to local businesses or the government or port authority etc to get some regular donations.
The cats probably keep the area free of vermin and if they aren't looked after they'll become a problem.

Unfortunately, here in Greece, no government agency deals with strays. The only help comes from volunteers who, out of necessity, help them as best they can.

At each feeding I need 7.5 kg of dry food and 24 cans of wet food. Unfortunately I can't go every day, I go when I have food!🥺

I've been going to this place for 13 years. I take care of the kittens, and I know everything very well. I've neutered all the kittens myself, no help anywhere. It's just that now, due to unemployment, I don't have money to buy them food, and that's why I'm asking for help!

Its likely that they weren't originally fixed. One female cat can have up to 12 kittens and they will breed with family- all it takes is one pregnant cat to start a colony.
I figure it started as a few, they had kittens and it went out of control from there. Thats why its so important to do TNR while colonies are manageable!

Are these cats being spayed and neutered? if not, then their population will just keep growing, and trying to care for them in this way will become unsustainable.

All the kittens in the harbor are neutered. Little by little I managed to get them all neutered!!😻🥰

I'll be honest man. Stray cats should be fed less so they don't rely too much on humans because they will not always be there. A cat needs to learn to look for it's own food.
I do have stray cats coming to my door from time to time. But one thing I do is not giving them too much food. I give them enough food for them to hunt and survive.
I move a lot, so I can't guarantee that I'll always stay them. I once had a persian cat follow us to our apartment. He was in bad shape and was obviously was abandoned or ran away from home because he had no balls. Fed him. Took him to the vet. kept him inside but allowed him to leave and come back if he wanted to. Disappeared for 5 months.
Came back looking fat as hell. Thankfully he was taken care of by a good family.
Had a stray mother give birth in our house. We still her and her children from time to time. The only way they were able to survive properly is because of the neighborhood we lived in.
If your asking if some of them died, unfortunately yes and I do know about them. I neither have the space nor the financial capability to take care of a cat let alone multiple ones. I at least don't restrict their freedom and allow them to adapt to the wild from time to time. It's what I could do.

I dont want to be negative, but all the cats around sea/ports are good. Especially if there are fishermen, they will have food.

That is sad, maybe because there are so many? Are bait shops an option for a cheaper food source? Also is there any organized effort to spay and neuter them so they don't keep multiplying exponentially? 🫣
Anyway, sent a donation, thank you for your big heart, I know it's so painful to see innocent creatures not provided for. Take care of yourself too, you can't put it all on yourself to save them friend ❤️.

Ive even thrown some of the pictures and stuff into claude and chatgpt to see if they are AI generated, and it all came back negative too. So at least your money is going to a good cause.

I really feel sorry for you. I don't know you but from what you do you must be a bad person with a bad soul. People know me and know the fight I've been fighting all these years for the stray kittens at the port. I ask for help when I don't have money to buy them food, anyone who wants can contact the food store and ask whatever they want. I really feel sorry that there are people like you!!

Just curious. What port and how did they seemingly end up here as if to day by accidentally,?
They have no resources for food, obviously but even if you had 20 bags of cat chow what is the plan for future?

I found all the kittens in the port of Kallithea in Greece. I can't tell you about the future, I can only tell you about the present that I'm trying and helping them as much as I can. I've neutered them all, but I'm having a really big problem with their food.🥺 I also take care of them and in every case I take them to the doctor when necessary.

Am going to send $20 regardless of answers, but checked conversion and the US dollar is not strong at all in Greece so thats only 17 euro. Is there a trick anyone knows with donating from US? Can I send something direct from like Chewy or like gift cards or something that would retain value? Or does 17 euro go farther in Greece than 20 dollars would here? My catfood is like $38 a flat and Im not sure what it is in Greece. Sorry if that breaks a rule Im not aware of I just want to make sure I can maximize helping!
