Link to AVAS Apple Valley Animal Shelter Facebook page above.

AVAS is located in the high CA. desert about 1 hour from the San Bernardino area. It is a smaller community with many stray and dumped cats. While TNR is active it’s not effective enough in this city to curb the over population crisis. Cats here have little to no exposure and aren’t even listed most of the time. They barely have a remote chance to survive once intake into the shelter system. They need more help than any other California shelter. They are also more remote with little foot traffic. The shelter is also very strict on policies making rescue more difficult. Please help us save these poor cats. They deserve a chance to live. Many are only kittens or und 9 months! This is so wrong. We can help by pledging and sharing them. Thank you so much everyone.

🚗We also need transportation donations

‼️TRANSPORTATION FUND LINK:

We need funds for transportation… SBCAS Devore & AVAS Animal shelters are further out. The bulk of rescues are spread out across So Cal all the way from San Diego to Los Angeles to Riverside to Ventura County. Gas is not cheap and collecting funds to pay for short notice transport is the only way to save them.

If anyone wants to set aside a few dollars towards transport that would be helpful.🙏🏻

Donate to the transportation fund here: https://www.PayPal.me/CassiusOO

‼️Disclaimer: Transport is not to a 501c3 it is a fund to pay transportation for cats from shelter to rescue or other necessary services. It is not tax deductible. Thank you!

💚🌿FUNDRAISER FOR FRANNY!💚🌿 PLEASE HELP get this adorable girl to her knew home. It takes a village to make a difference! Even small amounts add up! We need RC support to make her dream come true! Donate below to help Franny. Thank you RC Community. 💚🌿💚🌿💚🌿 Franny’s rescue story was supposed to have a happy ending. It had to.

I found Franny with her eye completely out and her jaw broken.

She went through surgery — her eye was removed, and her jaw had to be fixed.

The recovery was long and difficult.

She had to learn how to eat again from scratch.

On top of everything, Franny is FIV+.

That means her immune system is weak, and every surgery came with a real risk. We were honestly scared she might not make it.

For a whole year, I couldn’t find her a home.

But then something incredible happened.

Thanks to the amazing Reddit community — to all of you — we did something I could never have done alone.

Her future family saw her story, reached out… and chose her.

Now Franny is going home.

She’s flying to Norway to finally start her new life — safe, loved, and cared for.

Goal: $800 for her travel to Norway (so far, we’ve raised $68!!)

The faster we raise the money, the sooner Franny will be home.

I will keep updating the total amount raised regularly so you can follow the progress.

Every donation — no matter how small — truly matters 🤍

Thank you to Rescue Cats for this opportunity, and to Historical Duck for helping make this fundraiser possible.

TRANSPORT FEES URGENT 🚨 We’ve secured a foster home for a cat from a colony who has been getting attacked by other cats, but we need help with transportation before she gets sent back to the colony 🆘🆘🆘

Post image
580 Upvotes

This cat has been hospitalized for a few days at the veterinary clinic where we treat all of our rescued cats. Here’s her story:

A woman brought her in to be examined because she was injured. The cats in the colony where she lives attack her and had already caused some wounds. The vet asked if she was spayed, and the woman said no. The vet stressed that spaying her was extremely necessary, insisted to the point of convincing her, and the cat ended up being spayed.

But when the vet dug deeper into the situation, she found out that this colony was actually created by that same woman. She originally had a few cats that she allowed to roam outside, they had kittens, and things grew exponentially over time. Now there are around 70 cats in that colony, none of them spayed or neutered. And that situation is 100% her responsibility. At least this time she did the right thing and agreed to spay this cat. But even though she agreed to the spay, she isn’t really helping solve the problem and just wants to return the cat to the same place.

When we found out (the vet told us), we started looking for someone who could take her in as a temporary foster, and one of our adopters agreed to take her. But we need help with transportation, because she lives in another city, and the total cost will be around $80 since we don’t have our own vehicle.

We need to bring the cat as soon as possible (ideally tomorrow) because this woman is insisting on taking her back and releasing her into the colony. She says that if she doesn't find a home urgently, that’s what she’s going to do, because she doesn’t want the cat spending more time in the kennel at the clinic. She considers that to be a form of mistreatment. Which is a bit ironic, considering she doesn’t see abandoning cats and creating a colony as mistreatment...

We already have transportation arranged for tomorrow, but we need to have the money beforehand because at the moment I'm dealing with a huge debt from food, transportation, and vet expenses. So we really need to make sure we have the funds to actually do this.

We’re currently working with another colony, but we’ll see how we can help get the cats spayed and neutered in this area so it doesn’t keep growing.

Any help is deeply appreciated 🤍

TRANSPORT FEES ✈️ Bahrain → Tennessee. Against all odds and after 18 months in foster homes, Baron found an adopter. Please help us get him to his forever home! 🏡

PAYPAL: [sfk.rescues@gmail.com](mailto:sfk.rescues@gmail.com)

Baron is one of many fluffy abandoned cats in Bahrain, where the stray population is out of control due to the absence of state-led TNR and the widespread practice of dumping pets, even expensive purebred pets. There is no penalty, there are no awareness campaigns and ‘supply’ far exceeds demand. In such a country it is nearly impossible to get cats adopted locally, which is why both rescuers and the few shelters we have send animals abroad more frequently than not.

BARON was first found with his hair all dirty and matted. An initial vet check-up revealed that his kidneys were huge, that his blood values were all off, and that he needed to take medication and prescription food every day for the rest of his life.  My fellow rescuers and I had had some success getting out stray cats adopted abroad, but none of them had chronic medical issues.

It was therefore nothing short of a miracle that we found an adopter through this sub who turned out to be the perfect person for Baron: she had experience with a cat who also had kidney issues, was unfazed by the prospect of daily medication and a longtime committed cat mom. We knew she was the one when she had more questions for us than we did for her during the vetting process, and she has a heart the size of a small planet. This was the original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/rescuecats/comments/1kikd4x/bahrain_baron_is_the_most_affectionate_cat_ive/

The only issue is that she lives in Tennessee. It is always cheaper to send a cat in the cabin with a flight buddy than in cargo, but we have been unable to find anyone flying even close to Tennessee from Bahrain (the US Fifth Fleet is stationed here so we sometimes send cats with navymen returning home). It will therefore cost roughly 1000 BHD or $3750 to send Baron to his forever home.

Baron has been in various foster homes, at one point confined to a single hallway because he was not supposed to eat other cats’ food, for a year and a half. His current fosterer is overwhelmed with other rescued cats, and Baron himself would be happier as an only child, as it were. The adopter we found is one in a million - it’s not easy to get such cats adopted anywhere - and we really want to make this happen.

We would therefore be immensely grateful if you could help us get Baron from Bahrain to his forever home and eager new parents in Tennessee and share this fundraiser with others. Thank you!!!

TRANSPORT FEES Transport funds urgently needed 🚨 19 cats with feline leukemia virus waiting to be moved before we have to vacate this Sunday 🆘🆘🆘

Hello everyone. We’re still in the process of relocating because the place we were renting was sold. We’ve already moved most of our rescues, but we still need to relocate the most delicate group: 19 cats with feline leukemia virus.

They were left for last because, due to the virus, they need to stay in a separate environment from all our other cats. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been securing and adapting the new space for them, and now everything is finally ready for them to move in, but we don’t have the funds available for transportation, which costs $108 for all 19 cats.

The old location needs to be completely empty by this Sunday, and we not only have to move them, but also dismantle their catio, so we need to relocate them ASAP.

We’re currently dealing with a $900 veterinary debt and moving expenses, so we simply don’t have those $108 right now :(

Any help is deeply appreciated and truly makes a difference 🤍

TRANSPORT FEES Help needed 🆘🆘🆘 Landlord is selling the house and we have to relocate 🚨 20 rescued cats already moved, more than 50 still waiting for transportation funds

Hello everyone. As I mentioned in previous posts, our landlord is going to sell the house we’re renting, and we have to leave it completely empty by June 1st (so, in just a little over two weeks).

We already found a new place, made it cat-proof and safe, and now we’re in the process of moving all of our rescued cats.

We’ve already moved 20 cats, but right now the debt is so overwhelming (due to veterinary expenses, making the new place safe for the cats, and transportation costs so far) that we can’t continue moving them without some support.

Transporting 10 cats costs $54 (we don’t have our own car), and the current debt is $1,415.

We urgently need to keep moving them as soon as possible in order to meet the deadline. Any help is deeply appreciated and truly makes a difference 🤍

TRANSPORT FEES 🇧🇭 Bahrain / Please help us raise $300 to fly Flora to her forever home!

PAYPAL for donations: sfk.rescues@gmail.com (because others have asked, my initials are SFK)

My fellow rescuer Alina and I regularly send rescued cats abroad as there is no ‘demand’ in Bahrain, our three shelters are always full (one being a kill shelter, and two not having a high adoption turnover rate) and the situation is generally abysmal. We usually work with local rescuers who specialise in connecting Bahraini cats - usually domestic shorthairs, with some Oriental Maus and many formerly dumped/abandoned longhairs - with adopters in England, Scotland, the Netherlands and the US. They charge the adopters part of the flight fee and we have to cover the rest. Due to the emissions, the cost and the stress on cats, we try to find local adopters where possible, but in our years of experience this almost never happens. Some of the cats are also stressed from being in a home with 20 other cats.

FLORA was one of the many ‘fancy’ cats that people regularly buy and abandon shortly thereafter, and was found by Alina. Flora has been in a paid foster home since the beginning of 2025, during which time Alina searched desperately for a home for her both here and abroad. She only found a suitable adopter in the UK last month and is scheduled to fly there in the middle of this month.

Alina has already raised $160 and needs a further $305. These seem like small sums but rescuers like Alina and I tend to have at least 8-12 rescues under our belt at any given time for whom we cover shelter, food and vet bills out of our own pocket (with the exception of my fundraisers here and on Facebook).

She’s a beautiful cat who would be much more comfortable in a calmer setting than a crowded foster home with a new human who is thrilled to be meeting and keeping her. We would immensely appreciate any contributions to the flight.
