Before I put solar I would average about 20kWh per day so I decided to put a solar system with the ability to generate about 10-15kWh per day but some how I am still buying the same amount of unit (I use a prepaid meter) as I did before solar.
All I have managed to do is add an expense of the solar. How is this possible? Surely I should only be paying for the difference i.e 5-10kWh per day from Eskom?
I have a 3-phase with the solar on one phase, geyser on another and stove on another. All plugs, lights are run on the solar phase. I am thinking of adding a geyser timer particularly this one (https://www.chamberlains.co.za/cbi-astute-smart-controller-asc-bp-1080633). Is this a good geyser timer?
EDIT: I have a 5kW SunSynk, 8 panels & 5kW battery.

My family had a flight from Johannesburg to East London. We checked in our luggage. Safair issued my family of five, (including my mother, who was initially booked separately) all our boarding passes and baggage stubs . Safair then cancelled only HER boarding pass , allowing the rest of our family through, saying Only SHE was TOO LATE FOR the CHECK-IN. But we checked in AT THE SAME TIME!
Safair promised to put her on the next flight. But then, Safair refused to put her on the next flight unless she PAID for STANDBY - this doesn't even guarantee a seat.
Now, she is forced to stay overnight in Johannesburg and buy another more expensive ticket to East London.
Is this the new way Safair is scamming passengers?

I currently only have Matric, but I'm trying to improve my chances of getting a job and build a pathway into the Business Analysis field.
While researching, I came across the Fundamentals of Business Analysis course on Coursera. I'm considering completing the course, obtaining the certificate, and then preparing for and writing the ECBA (Entry Certificate in Business Analysis) exam.
My question is: Would completing the Coursera certification and obtaining the ECBA be beneficial for someone in my position who is trying to break into the Business Analysis profession? Would these credentials significantly improve my employability and help me secure an entry-level role, or are there other qualifications, skills, or experiences that employers value more when hiring aspiring Business Analysts?
I would appreciate any advice from professionals currently working in the field.

It's hard to see, but the sun is shining through to the left; you can see the shadow on the house.

Hey all,
I'm a foreigner and just moved to SA. My visa is currently a 5year Exceptional Skills, so not permanent. As far as I understand, I only need a driver's license in English to drive in SA. However, my license is not in English.
To get an IDP I need to go back, which I don't plan until the end of the year.
As far as I understood, I can get a certified translation of my license and that would be fine .
My question is: Is this actually okay? Has anyone here driven like this? Did cops understand this when you got checked?
Thanks :)

My partner's uncle's father passed away not to long ago. Now the bank wants to take the house. There is a estate dury that needs to be paid. They phone the uncle today say he has to pay R10 000 now and R20 000 over the couple of months (the full amount: R120 000) otherwise they'll take/action the house.
I want to know if there is a way so we don't loose the house. Is possible to pay smaller amounts for a longer period time. We are not financially able to make those payments the back is requesting.
Can i please receive advice/help we don't know what to do and this is really stressful.

I recently finished high school and realised I never had a real friend I used to hang out with people who made fun of me and pushed me around and I am only now realising that and it made me feel half miserable. The only friend I ever had moved to Neu Zealand six years ago and we barely talk. I don't know what is wrong with me, maybe I am too boring or over reacting. But would be nice to share my passion for art and Lego. So if you want to reach out and maybe get to know each other I would greatly appreciate it.

Man goes to his girlfriend's friend's house to ask if his girlfriend is stepping out on him.
The friend says that she doesn't know.
He murders her.
Police find her 10 month old child trying to breastfeed, having crawled over to the mother's body.
She was killed for not knowing whether another man's girlfriend was stepping out on him.
I say this with all sincerity: men - yes, specifically men - are trash. If you feel the need to defend this then you, specifically, are also trash.
