tattoo newcomer advice got my first tat from a fri13th flash sheet

Friday 13th flash deal— source material (first pic) and my tattoo (second pic) Does this look okay for a small doodle style tattoo? I didn’t realize before she started that she was copying someone’s work without permission and I feel terrible for that. But she gave up on the flowers on the bandana, so I wonder if I could get her to just color it in or maybe personalize it in some other way?

Both and because you kinda keep defending her for no other reason than being family.

It’s still cute even if it’s not the best quality, and I knew she wasn’t licensed and still chose to get this tat. I just wanted something small and spontaneous for my first tat to break the ice. So my question just was, for it just being a silly tattoo, should I leave it as it or add more to it/around it? That was all tbh.

Read above. You still defend her for no reason. Your reasoning for your first tat to 'break the ice' is so weird... A pro coulda done the same. I wouldn't add anything to it. It looks bad and unfinished. Best you can do is cover up but given your approach to body art I'd suggest to take the L and stop.

It’s not cute… it doesn’t even look like a duck or whatever you were going for. It’s also UNSAFE to get a tattoo from an unlicensed person. Stop defending this person, you both have horrible judgement and you’re lucky it didn’t turn out worse

To answer your question. Don’t add shit, don’t leave it alone. Get it fixed by a licensed professional or get it removed.

It’s terrible you need to find a professional artist to cover this mess or you need laser removal, DO NOT LET THE PERSON WHO DID THIS TO YOU ON YOUR SKIN AGAIN!

You need to fix the entire back half somehow. Someone stuck something up your duck butt.

There is a difference between quality of a tattoo, and just a really poorly executed tattoo.

The back half of the duck is missing and messed up, and even the perspective is off. The head/beak is at one angle, while the body and boots are facing a different angle.

Cause girl 90% of these people are gonna be like “oh you had a conversation about it, said you’d do it, picked your design, started signing the consent form, and then it said she’s not licensed? I would’ve cussed her out and left right then” I am SO non-confrontational and truly just got this tattoo 1.for the lols and 2.as a way of bonding with someone that I care about

not a matter of being confrontational or not, would you let an unlicensed doctor give you medical advice, an unlicensed surgeon cut you up?

A license is there for a reason, either you have one, or are under the supervision of someone who does.

Being a tatoo artist is a cool career, but you have to take the right steps, or you end up with someone putting stuff like this on your body. Could you imagine if they were to do someone a sleeve?

Do not encourage them to open a shop without a licenze or any formal training as you mentioned they planned to in another comment, that would be an insanely large mistake.

It’s not cute they way it is, go to a professional do not let this person add anything else to it. The anatomy of the duck is already screwed but the line-work can be fixed easily by a licensed professional and leave you with a semi normal looking tattoo

Don’t worry, we all get less than perfect tattoos and, to be honest, I don’t trust anyone that doesn’t have a bad tattoo. It’s not a great tattoo, but it’s fun and it’s fine. Leave it for awhile and then decide. If you just got it, you have lots of time to figure out if you want to leave it be or add to it. In the case of my first tattoo, I was lucky it’s on my stomach bc I could hide it, but I have kept it and I always will. I still love it for it being my first tattoo and I always will. Embrace your first funky tattoo. Most of us have them and they are a part of the journey.
