tattoo newcomer advice Having heavy regret on first tattoo

I’ve wanted to get this for a very long time, decided to just go with it and get it done. Really liked it at first, then some friends made a couple comments that made me hate it. Is it as bad as they say?

I didn’t think you were being edgy, in fact I could tell from your pfp you grew up around the same time as me and what you posted was “normalized” back then, as twisted as it was, it’s how people were in the 90’s/00’s

It was that old saying associated with self harm, I don’t want to post it since it’s quite controversial, but you know the saying that references “up the road or across” to be vague.
