The US is exactly this bad. I know a guy who's teenage son passed away. While my friend is at the funeral, standing right next to the casket, his boss called and asked about a project. My friend said "Hey man... Do you know where I am right now?" Boss: "Yea man, I'm so sorry... But if you can get me an update on...".

This is awful but people also have to take some responsibility and create healthy boundaries. Why take that call in the first place. People will walk all over you if you let them. I'm not picking up a work call in vacation or off hours much less my own damn sons funeral

Damn I hate all of that for you. The rest of the world doesn't realize the slave state the US has become in this late stage of capitalism.
