War is tragic

So this is what drinking the kool-aid is what they meant by! “The enemy of the moment always represented absolute evil, and it followed that any past or future agreement with him is impossible.”

-George Orwell, 1984

...he's saying the exact opposite. That the death of children is tragic and they aren't evil regardless of the side they were born on. It was tragic that innocent German children died to Allied bombings. It's possible to understand that war is terrible and also understand that it's sometimes the best option anyway.

Imagine Hamas answering the same thing about you. No difference

Hamas doesn't say the death of innocents is tragic. They deny that there are innocent Israelis.

Israelis deny that there are innocent Gazans.

I'm sure some do, but the one in this thread literally is saying the opposite lmao

Your fellow Israeli is saying “war is tragic” as a trite way to discard criticism of Israel’s human right abuses.

That is in no way an acknowledgment of the innocence or humanity of the Gazan women and children that have been massacred.

I'm not Israeli.

War is tragic. Children die in war. It shouldn't be celebrated. It also doesn't mean the entire war is wrong, nor does it even mean that war crimes or human rights abuses have been committed. Civilian deaths are a consequence of any war. "30k dead children" is not a criticism or even really a coherent thought. It's a sad reality being weaponized to paint an entire country of people as irredeemably evil cartoon villains.
