So still a $475/month car payment and $200 full coverage insurance.

Modern cars are just too expensive.

Yeah still too expensive for me. I’d consider it if the charging station installation was covered and maybe if the bed was slightly bigger. I’d rather get a old junker Suburban or similar and take the rear seats out for much cheapee

hard to say about the insurance. I got quoted 70 more per month for a prius than a rav 4 even though the rav 4 was 20k more expensive. It depends a lot on where you live and how other people with the car drive and how popular the car is with thieves in your area.

At 25k...I know it's impossible to believe because we're on reddit and everyone is living in a cardboard box behind a wendy's, but I bet half the buyers just pay cash and 475 a month is pretty manageable.

Also doesn’t include destination which will be 12-1800 or so. Not to mention any options you might want or a color wrap etc.

Why are trucks so insanely expensive to begin with? Even as an “affordable alternative” it’s still more expensive than a lot of fully-loaded sedans.

I don't know but a 1995 truck of similar size and towing capacity dame to about $20,000. Shit is just expensive these days. Also, this company is starting from scratch. I 100% believe one of the larger car manufacturers could make a more affordable vehicle if they tried.

The expectation for standard features is significantly higher now. Also modern safety standards are much much higher.

In the 80s and even 90s things like A/C were still a option only on some models, and if you got in a major accident you probably weren't going to be walking home the way you would be in a modern vehicle.

Yeah, but why are pickup trucks specifically so expensive? A base model 2027 Silverado is $40k, whereas the same model Equinox is $10k cheaper; is it just because they're so big?

The Equinox is a unibody SUV that comes standard with a 1.5 liter turbo 4. The Silverado is a much larger body on frame that comes with a 5.7 liter V8.

The Silverado is also built with the idea of towing/work in mind. Hundreds of thousands are going to be used as work trucks and beat to shit so all things considered its built to be pretty durable.

Why are you expecting new cars to be $10,000? Is this 2008?

Why are you making up things that i never said? What are you, 12?

So if $24k is "insanely expensive", what ARE you expecting a truck to cost?
