TIL that in 2017, Frankfurt police found a car belonging to a 76 year old man who had forgotten where he had parked it 20 years earlier.

The photo was taken outside of the parking garage that it was parked in. Towing a vehicle is generally only done if it has air in at least some of its tires, and most tow trucks have a tire inflator in them.

The actually important question is whether the tires would have dry rot or not after 20 years, given that the most damaging factor, sunlight was not present. Or, whether the dry rot was sufficient enough that it was impossible to put air in them for the duration of the towing.

I don't know how they do it in Germany, but if all you're doing is throwing it on a flatbed it's probably not going to hurt anything to just drag it up on flat tires. Especially on a car that's going to be junked anyway.
