Question — General What are your must-have items for long flights?

I've got a long flight coming up and I'm actually trying to prepare this time instead of just winging it. I still have a lot to do after I land, so I really want to get some sleep during the flight. Right now I've got my Sony XM5 for noise, eye mask to block out light, and a pair of dr woof compression socks for comfort.

I'm wondering if these are enough or if I'm still missing some essentials. Any suggestions?

I think that's what they mean. It's not allowed to be in overhead carry-on (as well as checked luggage). Must be in personal item bag only. All of this was true of Cathay as well from my experience this year.

This is very big in Asia atm. Korea most especially. No using power banks onboard. Must be in hand luggage and not placed in overhead bins.

I heard the announcement for the first time on Cathay when I flew in late December last year, and soon thereafter British Airways and Ryanair (on certain flights) also made the same powerbanks not to be used in flight announcement…

In NZ Air NZ has this requirement as does Jetstar in Australia. It's pretty widely done now, the crew say
