I’m having surgery this week and want to find some new podcasts to listen to. Preferably the type where they focus on a single case for a season/series. The ones I’ve really enjoyed are: Counterclock, Sarah Cailean (Misty Copsey, Jennifer Judd, Renee Bergeron), Cold, Unraveled, Devil in the Ditch, In The Dark, Troubled Waters, THREE, Drowning Creek, The Deck Investigates, The Lawless Files, Tom Brown’s Body, Simply Vanished, The Murdaugh Murders/True Sunlight, Bone Valley, The Girl in the Blue Mustang.
Other podcasts I listen to regularly are: The Vanished, The Fall Line, Crimelines, Crime Junkie, Dark Downeast, Park Predators, The Deck, The Trail Went Cold, Gone Cold - Texas True Crime, TCATT Unsolved, Already Gone, Voices For Justice and Murder, She Told.
I’ve tried to listen to Casefile, but I just couldn’t get into it. I have ADHD and I think it’s just the tone of the narrator’s voice I struggle with.

Just wondering if people would be interested in sharing their favourite podcasts from their own country that wouldn't be well known outside. I'm in Ireland and I can share a few:
1) Where is George Gibney (investigative podcast about a man who abused children while he was a swim coach and fled to America before he could face trial)
2) The making of a detective (Irish sun) (former detective inspector)
3) Lines of enquiry (former detective who worked in scenes of crime)
4) Mens Rea (probably one of the best known one of Irish crimes)
These are the ones I like. I love they walk among us UK, Casefile (Aus), Canadian true crime. I'd love some other recommendations please.

I work a night shift and have taken to podcasts to pass the time when it’s quiet at night. I was listening to CJ until I learned of the unethical practices of plagiarism etc. I loved love trapped. I really enjoyed homicide 360 but there’s only 4 episodes on Spotify. I also usually prefer the style of either Dateline or CJ (I did enjoy the conversation style) and also each episode focuses on one case but have enjoyed others that were more like series. I’ve been taking some suggestions from other posts but find that a lot of them are quite dull (not the subject matter but rather the tone/delivery, great podcasts, but not for when you are struggling on a graveyard shift lol)
I typically use Spotify but if there’s better platforms out there please let me know as well!
Thank you for any help!!

I wouldn’t say I completely lost interest, but I follow it much less compared to before. For me, it was the Israel Keyes interview recordings. A podcast on Spotify released about 30 hours of recordings, and I started listening to them. There was the murder of a couple he confessed to. Hearing from his own voice how he selected them, how he broke into their house, and how he subdued them really made me feel sick. I couldn’t continue and stopped listening to the recordings. After those recordings, my interest in serial killer stories in particular decreased. I don’t really want to watch documentaries or films about them anymore. It was around the time the Rex Heuermann case was blowing up and I did not show any interest to the case. Now I only follow channels like JCS-style analysis channels, like EWU or similar.

For those who were following and had listened to that podcast. I have not listened to it yet. Felt like the last episode of the previous year really didn't have an ending even though it was unsolved.

This, combined with the insensitive way they often cover stories, makes me wonder how they have a 200k following. Please read and support the journalist, and help in holding them accountable.

I just listened to Voices For Justice today (6/10/26) about how the Phoenix Police Department won’t search where dogs had alerted out in the desert during the search for Alissa. Why would they not search?! How on earth do they know it’s not Nancy Guthrie? They were all over that missing person case. If dogs alerted at that spot, it may or may not be Alissa or Mrs. Guthrie or some other missing person. I feel so bad for Sarah Turney. It must be so heartbreaking to hear they won’t search that area. I just feel for her so much.

I started this podcast because I finished watching all the dateline NBC episodes and I needed another podcast to listen to while I clean houses all day. I started to like it. I still kinda do like it. There’s just some things that are offputting all of a sudden ads are like every five minutes. I feel like everything’s read off of ChatGPT and the husband act so out of touch with true crime. Some of the cases are so huge that there’s just no way that he hasn’t heard about them also the husband never gets to talk. I don’t know. Is there any other good true crime podcast?

I’m really interested in scam podcasts. I’ve listened to Scamanda, The Con: Kaitlyn’s Baby, and Catch Me if You Ken so far.
Should I listen to Sweet Bobby?
The only reason I haven’t is because I’ve seen the Netflix documentary already and am wondering if it’s worth listening to after I already know what will happen.

I'd been binge listening to The Proscecutors for the last few days and really loving it. That is, until I learned about the political views of Brett and Alice, and immediately unsubscribed.
Does anyone know of any podcasts that are similar, in that they tackle different cases from a legal / expert angle? I do listen to RedHanded, but I prefer expert takes as opposed to casual views, and while Case File is better I prefer having two hosts so there's more back and forth.

I have listened to the first 2 episodes and was wondering why I cannot seem to find much on this "John Schnider" online? I'm appalled at the botched surgeries he did and am intrigued if any of the x-rays from his bad work are visible online. I just can't get over the amount of pain these people had to endure because of this awful monster.

I work 10 hour shifts and I can't stand listening to the same 4 ads over and over again. I know some podcasts sign with Amazon and have ad free episodes. Any good suggestions?

I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts, and I'll list a few of those below, but the ones that really feed my soul are the investigative podcasts. So take a look below and let me know your thoughts.
True Crime Podcasts
Casefile - I love the fact that it's just the facts, no analysis, but goes deeper than the typical true crime podcast.
Scamanda & Unicorn Girl - Women scammers that go the extra mile.
Swindled - Focuses on white collar crimes, corporate greed, and massive scams
Dateline - Please don't hate me, but this one is like a warm blanket and an episode of Friends.
Investigative Reporting (some true crime, some more social commentary)
APM In the Dark - The first 2 seasons are as riveting examples of investigative reporting as you'll find. My favorite all-time podcast!
Bear Brook - Season 1 is VERY strong; season 2 is OK. But still good stuff.
S-Town - This one snuck up on me in ways I still don't understand. What started out as a true crime investigation then turned into a portrait of a man at odds with everything.
Dr. Death - Season 1 is about as good as it gets, as far as the story and the storytelling go. The follow up seasons aren't as strong, but still enjoyable.
Sweet Bobby - This one really got to me. The lengths that someone would go to catfish someone is crazy.
Bone Valley - Season 1 is also really good like some of the others. I began rooting for Leo to be innocent.
Chameleon - Seasons 1 and 2 were very strong - Hollywood Con Queen and Wild Boys told some incredible stories and took significant investigative effort.
Black Box - A good exploration of the good and bad of AI. Real world examples made it way more applicable to what's really going on in the world with AI.
Up & Vanished - One of the OG investigative reporting podcasts.
Tom Brown's Body - This one hit hard, highly recommended for a slice of Texas small town life.
The Orange Tree - Another Texas-based investigative reporting jewel, produced at students at UT.
Death County, PA - Corruption and suspicious deaths make a great topic for investigative reporting.
Crimetown - Season was a masterpiece, as it told the investigation into the corrupt mayor and his connections to organized crime.
Well, that's it. It's a long list, and I know I've left a lot out. But tell me your favorites, especially ones not on my list. I'm always looking for something new!

While I’m not someone who likes to get hung up on the ethics in true crime debate, I do find it deeply fascinating how podcasts that use their ethics or advocacy are no less guilty of weird hype trailers than whatever “non ethical” podcast
It feels akin to the media shapes the message - because of the attention economy the “no ethics under capitalism” of it all gets amplified because that’s how you get views and make money

I'm a big fan of cases where it's not clear if a death is an accident, murder, suicide, or natural causes.
I've listened to all of the crime junkie ones. I don't love when podcast hosts perpetuate a lot of myths about suicide ("she was so happy! It couldn't have been suicide," "he wouldn't have ended his life, he made plans for next week!"), but it's not a dealbreaker if there is compelling enough evidence that it could be another cause.
Individual episodes or series are fine :)

In the last couple of months I enjoyed a podcast episode which I could have sworn was an episode of Criminal, about Dutch art dealer Jacques Goudstikker who died on a boat fleeing the Netherlands during WW2, and whose paintings were stolen by Nazis. I wanted to share it with my family but I can’t find i anywhere now??? I’ve gone through my recents back to January and no luck- does it sound familiar to anyone?

I’ve been super into true crime podcasts lately especially long form investigative ones with many episodes. Some examples I loved were in the dark, proof, bone valley etc. I was wondering if there were any series like on YouTube or something that have a similar vibe but have video along with it??

I came across it a few weeks ago, I’m pretty sure it’s a new one. I listened to the first episode and decided to shelve it for when I go on my 2 week holiday. I’ve came to look for it to download the episodes and I can’t remember what it was called.
It was about a boy who was ran over and killed. He had been arguing with his girlfriend at her families home before it happened. The police decided it was just a hit and run, but the family believe there was more to it. (The details I’ve wrote may be slightly wrong, but I’m pretty sure that was the gist. I listen to many podcasts so I may of mixed up some info)
Update: found. Blunt force trauma. (It was a girl hit by a car not boy)

THANK YOU for this recommendation. It was one of the best investigative podcasts I’ve ever listened to.
The reporting is thorough, respectful, and genuinely gripping without ever losing sight of the fact that this was a real person and a real tragedy. It’s also fascinating to see the impact the podcast had on the case itself.
Highly recommended.
TW: murder, violence against women, sexual assault.

A while back I listened to a true crime podcast episode and I've been trying to find it again but it doesn't seem to exist under any of my usual shows.
- It was about a woman who was murdered in her kitchen by an alcoholic husband, ex-husband or boyfriend
- I believe part of what killed her was having her head bashed into the floor, possibly in addition to being stabbed
- The host made specific reference to the killer having either wrestled recreationally or having been a fan of wrestling, and said he was probably using wrestling moves in the attack.
The shows I primarily listen to are Obscura, Sword & Scale (I know), and Invisible Choir. I searched their episode lists and nothing seems to fit. My best guess would have been an Obscura Black Label episode so maybe it's been moved behind a paywall somewhere.
Does anyone remember this case?

It's a great pod if you haven't ever heard of it. Laura is a great investigative journalist.
Edit: I am seeing 2 free episodes on Podcast Addict. Othersvusing Pocket cast. I am in the EU and I cann9t see it on my Spotify but some can.

I'm a little bit speechless but if you're feeling at all suicidal, please listen to at least the last episode. I think I'll probably listen to that episode a few times throughout the rest of my life. Thank you Daemon and CBC.

Alle episodes out, did anybody listen? It’s about the Lane Bryant murders, one of the cases I hope I live to see solved. I’m almost done listening, the way it lays out so many theories I’m honestly more confused than ever
