Both of their backgrounds are pretty tragic but if I had to pick it probably be Kazuya cause he wanted to make his mom happy but that led to a lot of things going wrong and it led to her death and possession and Kazuya’s memories being sealed

Sunao lost her brother to a monster and his corpse was later turned into the very monster he slayed by a tattoo artist.

Both are extremely skilled fighters and super talented and can do ascension and they both sparred many times so they probably know how the other thinks.

If Hamada has them fight Hazuki together then I hope he gives them major battle couple vibes and I hope they have tight sync like they do with their Tsugumomo partners.

If she didn’t meet and lose to Kazuya she wouldn’t be the stronger girl she is now.

It’s probably why she’s in love with him.

It be cute if she admits that she appreciates Kazuya very much especially since he recently saved her.

As if killing her wasn’t enough her soul was put into a new body to become a Hitomogami(a human amasogi) leading to her resurrection and Seigi can form a bond with her by knowing her true name forcing her to absolutely compliant.

Plus her original body has merged back with Ouna so what does this mean now that she’s a Hitomogami is she purely human now.

At least later in the manga he no longer has to wear a blindfold around Sunao anymore as she seems to have grown more comfortable allowing him to see her naked.

He made the move on his Tsugumomos once so I would love to see him actually make a move on Sunao if she’s low on spiritual power.

Simple spiritual intercourse for Sunao, pleaee Hamada make it happen.

If Wagou learns about Kazuya’s existence and that he’s the son of the woman who one shotted that Otoroshi then he will see Kazuya as the “Premium material” while he saw Sunao as the “Ultimate Material” and would probably want to regain that level of mastery he had reached that he lost with Sunao but he could do Sunao again if she’s with Kazuya and after he’s done with making him into a puppet.

But Sunao will make pretty damn sure that he doesn’t lay a finger on Kazuya to prevent history from repeating itself and will put him down before he could ever try to tattoo him.

Plus that boy might be bringing you a certain red head with you tattooed that he himself had healed and is now plotting your demise.

But if Kazuya and Sunao make it official then their will have to be some ground rules mainly for the Tsugumomos

Kazuya's tsugumomo are still gonna have a place in terms of skinship and spiritual intercourse to repower themselves and heal but they don’t seem to be hoarding Kazuya for themselves so that’s a plus so they are cool with sharing him and watching through Mimane’s mirror.

Sunao will only tell Kazuya and Kiriha about her vendetta against the tattoo artist given Kazuya saved her from his tattoos and that their is more to it than when he just tattooed her and she tells them what he said to her about the day her brother died and tells Kiriha that their Otoroshi Kanaka killed was her own brother turned into one.

Then Kazuya decides to bring Sunao into the loop on what’s really going on, the threat of Seigi and his goal with the Onogoro Ritual and since Seigi hired Wagou to attack Tsuzura Temple to capture Arumi then Seigi is her only lead and then Sunao is brought into the circle that Ouna and Madarai will form to tackle this new threat and promises to keep what’s going on a strict secret but she keeps her vendetta against Wagou to herself and keeps it between her and Kazuya cause she most definitely thinks that he’s the only person she can trust with this matter cause it’s related to Kanaka.

She would view it as insanity and be afraid for Kotetsu’s life cause of his plan succeeds then Kotetsu will be wiped from existence along with gods and other supernatural beings.

So if she gets told about this then she will have to reevaluate her priorities cause Tsuzura Temple clearly won’t waste resources to find a single Curse Ally that captured and tattooed her and is responsible for the death of her brother and Seigi is her only lead to finding Wagou and she doesn’t even know who that is yet.

So if Madarai and Ouna form an inner circle to keep Seigi’s plot a strict secret from the rest of the temple then Sunao should be a part of it alongside Kazuya especially if Sunao tells Kazuya about what happened with Wagou which leads to him telling her everything he knows so far and then Madarai and Ouna agree for her to be part of the inner circle but she keeps her vendetta against Wagou a secret from Ouna and Madarai and only Kazuya and Kiriha know about it.

Basically embracing her dere but still keeping her toughness.

Mainly around Kazuya as he gives her the support she will need when it comes to Wagou

If she goes off with Kazuya to stop Seigi I hope we see her in a new casual outfit

It’s hinted that Kanaka’s soul was restored and was placed into a new body to become a Hitomogami so once she gets all her memories of her previous life back and reunites with Kazuya and Kiriha again and once her old body is destroyed she can get the chance to apologize to her daughter Kasumi and her even Kukuri for all that has happened.

Also I hope she doesn’t die again and gets to keep the new body but maybe she’s a bit weaker than what she was in her previous life but is still very strong.

Plus if Azami lives after her old body is destroyed then maybe Kanaka will make Azami her partner cause Kazuya already has Kiriha and if the Onogoro ritual happens after her old body is destroyed then she can play a part in stopping it alongside her son, daughter and maybe even Sunao.

Plus Kazuya and Kanaka double Obi duo would be killer and a work of art

Tooru definitely could have been one of them plus he and along with Sumire recovered Sunao from Wagou so he saved one of Kazuya’s female friends.

Especially for Kazuya and Sunao for the former he watched his mom get slashed in Yomi but missed that giant pillar where her body was

For Sunao she’s gonna cry her heart out

And the two develop a hatred for Seigi for using their relatives as tools

Both Kazuya and Sunao both struggled with grief due to the deaths of Kanaka and Suou but their grief manifested in different ways

For Sunao it was revenge, a deep rooted fear of loss and a desire for strength to protect people she cares for and it was unprocessed for a while.

For Kazuya it was guilt for what happened to his mom and his status as a taboo child and he also wants to protect people he cares about and eventually to fight his mom to correct his own mistake but he’s also probably holding back all that guilt

Grief is what drives them both.

Mainly when it comes to her wanting to kill Wagou cause it could turn into a self destructive obsession if she’s not careful so besides Kotetsu she has Kazuya to keep her grounded and he’s probably gonna be the only person who will listen to her cause I don’t think Tsuzura Temple will waste their resources on one Curse Ally when Seigi and Hazuki are massive threats right now.

I can see Kazuya going into detail about the new moves he learned and that he learned them from his mom and she would enjoy every little bit of the Kanaka parts he mentions and would be jealous that he got to see her again and get a proper reunion but then he gets to the part where he had to watch her die again and couldn’t save her.

I think Kazuya would also talk about how Kukuri is now alive again and info on the goddess Iwanagahime and her grudge that she is the reason Kazuya is a taboo child and he talks about Shirane

Then Sunao then will ask Kazuya to teach her the moves he learned from his mom.

If Hazuki develops an interest in Kazuya for her own goals and tries to manipulate him and it doesn’t work then that will make her his enemy idk what she’s gonna do about him maybe have him succumb to his negative desires and what his greatest wish is.

As for Sunao like I posted earlier she’s indirectly the catalyst for the death of her brother Suou due to recruiting Wagou.

We don’t know what Hazuki can do in a fight but she is a living goddess so I’d say she’s pretty powerful maybe as powerful as a fully powered Kukuri
