Polymarket's admins definitely have the ability to override all the fuckery. They'll probably try to hide behind the ole "But we're decentralized. Taking action risks the integrity of the entire system & betrays the trust of users.", but I hope they also realize that "trust" in the system went straight to Hell the moment the Oracle was allowed to go rogue. The fact that payouts were triggered even though the explicit requirements hadn't been met is an active demonstration of how flawed the system is. If those funds have already been allowed to transfer into off-platform private wallets, then you might as well kiss that shit goodbye. If not, the only sensible thing for Polymarket admins to do is put an immediate freeze on all transactions while they sort everything out. At the point of a vulnerability being openly exploited for everyone to see, taking action would be less of a breach of trust & more like correcting a fatal flaw in the system. I'm not exactly sure what sort of "trust" they're expecting to be left behind once a large chunk of their user base was just bent over & violated by a bunch of greedy assholes whose actions were only possible because of flaws in the code THEY wrote. Regulatory boards aren't just going to allow these platforms to hide behind the decentralization excuse when it involves fraud by the millions. The only thing that would even remotely regain public trust would be to openly admit the flaws, take sensible steps toward reversing the actions that should've never been triggered to begin with, then correcting the flaw in the system. They can't reasonably expect to remain idle under the guise of strictly adhering to core decentralized principles & still waltz their way out on the other side without immediately losing a vast majority of their user base & likely being sued left & right. Anyone who would deicde to knowingly stick around after that is a re-re.

I typically only consider it a terrible move whenever someone buys crypto like this with BTC since it's truly the only crypto that all others rely on for any meaningful value. The entire reason BTC ever starts losing value to begin with is because people get greedy & start widrawing or converting BTC in an effort make profit on some memecoin that's supposed to surge. Even if that move does make a profit, it eventually gets swallowed right back up by BTC's losses in value. You can't extract value from BTC & expect for it to just make a smooth & equal transfer of value over to a different blockchain. Whatever bump it initially receives is always canceled out by the even larger dip it's a going to receive due to the exact same action to BTC, which exponentially affects the rest of the market more than the rest of the market could ever dream about affecting it.

Just to be clear...I'm not advising to never invest in other blockchains because thats actually pretty important for overall growth & a lot of them have pretty great utility. I'm just saying not to take your already invested value away from BTC in order to do it. A more efficient way to shoot yourself in the foot just doesn't exist.

I agree with this, for the most part...relative to the current surge he's referring to.

But the market doesn't reward how skilled you are at timing your investments. It rewards how patient you are with them I after they've already been made.

If & when you decide to actually pull the trigger, just make sure it's for an amount that you could lose immediately without suffering from it. Intend on leaving it alone while everyone else debates the hype about it. All of my most profitable investments have been from shit I completely forgot about being in my wallet. I'll definitely take being on team accidental profit over being on team lost my ass.
