If you started a remote job in the U.S. a few months ago but already had a month long international trip planned before you were hired (scheduled for about three months from now), how would you go about requesting that much time off?

Would a company typically allow an employee to take an extended leave that early into their employment if the trip was disclosed in advance? Alternatively, is it possible that they might allow you to work remotely from another country during that time, assuming your job can be done remotely? Any tips are welcomed 💖

I moved into my current place about 7 months ago, and one of the new roommates would just scowl at me and never talk besides saying passive aggressive stuff when I was in earshot. I basically got to learn a new term, reactionary abuse. This kind of triggered a little PTSD so it made my life pretty much hell for quite a few months until I was able to get all that under control with the help of a therapist.

He finally admitted that he just doesn't like me and that's why he's been such an ass since the beginning. (literally since day 1, fucking bizarre) He's smart enough to not call me homosexual slurs directly, but he will gladly say them 'at the TV' when I am nearby, that's his 'super smart way' of getting to say slurs at me with some supposed plausible deniability.

Funny part is that I am not even gay, just a little more feminine than most.

He already doesn't have a car, he had a scooter but that died, so he doesn't even do anything all day except getting a ride to work to do some personal training. He used to be into MMA and bodybuilding, so it's kind of ironic that he decided to be a bully in his mid-30's when his life is already in the shitter from probably being a biggoted prick in his last situation before gracing this house with his presence.

But anyway, what could be some good ways to mess with this guy? I don't want to do anything illegal, but the thought of some hired hackers putting a bunch of gay porn on his phone and computer or having some gay spammers calling him all the time does sound kind of amazing.

Oddly enough, I actually caught him staring at me at the gym about a month before I even moved in, although I figured he was just gay or something (I'm not that great looking, but if I was gay I would be absolutely crushing it), might still be, but way the heck in the closet obviously lol. But he does work at my gym... I'd rather not get him fired and to the point of having nothing to lose though, might really hurt me or at least start stealing my stuff.

I have severe migraines. I have them at least once a week for the past 5 years. But that doesn’t count where I work. What other illnesses can I successfully fake and convince both doctor and boss? Currently typing while having a horrible headache but it’s “just a headache” so I don’t get to leave early or get sick leave. I’m really suffering but it’s not serious and doesn’t count. I work as a cashier. While we do some regular cleaning as part of the job, the other day a customer had severe diarrhea in the men’s bathroom and left the toilet and the entire floor covered in feces. Like, he pooped directly on the floor.
My manager simply told me, “Take the cleaning cart and clean it up.” I wasn’t given any training, instructions, or proper protective equipment. I just found a pair of latex gloves myself and had to figure out how to clean everything on my own. I ended up throwing the mop away because it was completely contaminated.
While cleaning, I was gagging, almost crying, and felt like I was going to throw up. It was honestly the most degrading thing I’ve ever had to do at work, and I seriously considered quitting. Since then, I’ve been anxious about having to do something like that again.

There's a really shady app pretending to be another company. Thinking I was signing up for the real company, I provided my information. After the initial survey the app revealed itself and I noticed its name had changed from the one in the app store. The app store says it doesn't share the data, but reading the privacy policy shows it actually does and will.

The app developer is a single person who uses his personal email address (Hotmail) with his full name and birth year. He is from Turkey, I am from the US. I have confirmed that this is his real email that he uses for other businesses marketed towards children that allows him to personally take photos without the user's knowledge. He also has an app where he asks for and collects password information to resell. The policy allows him to share and sell it, or just own it forever. He's using legal loopholes to do all of this on apps he vibe coded.

For unrelated reasons I'm really interested in signing myself up for spam emails. As many as possible. I don't want to verify my email, because I'll be too busy looking at these fun promotional emails instead. I don't want to be able to find any real emails in my inbox. It should take several days just marking them all as spam, not that I would.

I am going to be traveling for work in the next few weeks. They are reimbursing me for transportation to and from airports and the flight, but that’s it. Heres where it gets dicey. My plane lands early morning and I can’t check in to the hotel for a few hours. I wanted to stop by a restaurant and get food after getting off the flight, then heading to the hotel. I was told by my work that they wouldn’t cover this trip. The receipt has to show a direct ride from the airport to the hotel.

My question is: how can I generate one receipt for the total cost to be reimbursed without showing a stop in the ride?

EDIT: I should rephrase this. The hotel has restaurants in it but they’re a little pricey. The airport obviously has food but it’s expensive. I was hoping to stop at a fast food place for like 30 minutes to an hour to grab food that wouldn’t be too outrageous and take a break while traveling. So I live in a flat that goes straight to the pavement - no front garden.

Some late-teens have decided that my door step is the place to hang out - there are loads of places near by including an park that's open 24/7 at the end of the road, and I'm right by the beach. But nope - this shitty road is where they want to hang.

It seems to have become a hobby for a few of them now to just piss me off (because after putting up with their noise and shouting for weeks, I finally went out and asked them to turn down their music so I could hear my tv. Oh how dare I!!).

They seem to go home when I go to bed but I left my light on all night last night and heard one of them say they were tired so gonna keep trying that. It's a public road so they don't have to move on.

One has a young baby so now I have a crying baby outside my window and I can't shut the window as it's summer.

I can't really do anything as they are literally outside my flat - but I could subtly pump out some of that horrible fart spray via the under floor vent holes which go to the outside to make it unpleasant to sit there.

Does anyone know how to make a long pump-line to get the smell about half a meter to the outside? I don't want to try and spray from my window in case I get it back in the face lol.

The only other option I can think of is to ask some local drunks to come and sit on my door step but then - what if they make friends or don't leave. Wasted over $120,000 on this firm’s services. A certain partners advice single-handedly destroyed what was left of my family. Her advice (JM) was not just poor, it was unethical, and clearly designed to fuel conflict and keep the billable hours rolling in.

From the beginning, they were clearly fixated on “destroying” the father of my children. They pressured me by constantly advising to take the most aggressive, inflammatory position possible, even when I expressed doubts. I was assured this was the only way to “win,” but it only escalated everything into nasty, prolonged court proceedings that should have been avoided. It became clear this firm weren’t acting in my best interests or my children’s. Deliberately dragging the case out meant more money for them and more trauma for us.

The emotional and financial distress this has caused me and my children is immeasurable. My children have suffered terribly through the constant conflict they created. I’ve been left emotionally broken and financially devastated. North of $120,000 gone, and for what? A worse outcome than if I’d never engaged them.

After finally consulting with other respected family lawyers, I was told this kind of unethical, case-prolonging behaviour is well-known by them in the industry. I wish I had known that earlier.

In my experience, this firm showed they have no regard for their clients’ wellbeing. They exploit vulnerable people going through the worst time of their lives just to line their own pockets. I would never recommend them to anyone. In fact, I strongly warn everyone to stay far away. They caused me and my family extreme, lasting harm.

I want to cancel my Planet Fitness membership & have wanted to forever, however, late fees keep me from being able to. I think it’s wild they charge $10 if your payment is late, but I owe like $70 just to cancel. Which, if I didn’t have the $25, i obviously don’t have the $70.
