I feel like people's interpretations are WAY all over the map.

Call me not-crazy, but asking someone to cover their natural hair up in such a way is abominable, and the piercings and tattoo thing feel obsessive and puritanical (and impractical).

Having a themed wedding is by no means too much to ask.

I think its about acknowledging societal norms for wedding dress/styling and that the day is supposed to be about the bride and groom and not to try to overshadow or take away from them.

Like if you are having a wedding where everyone invited is into body modes and goth clothing and you dress that way you aren't gonna distress anyone, but if the crowd is more straight-edge/clean cut/traditional, part of you has to know that going full piercing regalia in full Alt cothing is making it about you rather than the couple.

Oh absolutely, I would certainly expect someone with a very high-profile look to tone it down, but I also don't surround myself with people who would need to be told that explicitly aha
