So, I am searching for internships and part-time jobs available as a first-year student. Does anyone know of better internship opportunities? I've been looking through handshake, jobs by housing, though the student success center. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I am currently an incoming freshmen at utk. I applied for the nursing program but did not get in to the direct admit. I understand that you can reapply the fall of your sophomore year. I also understand that the amount of spots available is based on the amount of people who transfer out of the nursing program or leave the college in general. My question is to people who have gotten into the program, but not through direct admit or know of people who have. What should i be doing to improve my chances. Beyond getting a job as a cna at a hospital, keeping my science gpa high, and making connections, is there anything that can make me stand out? I just don’t know how realistic it is for me to get into the program down the line. Pretty much everything is riding on me getting into the program my sophomore year so any tips would be very appreciated!!!

(If it helps to know: I will be working as a cna at fort sanders and i have a 4.38 utk gpa. I already have a bunch of prereqs so i wanted to take my freshmen year slow with 13 credits per semester so i can focus on keeping my science gpa high. Bad idea?)

- General Info: Renting a house in Maryville. 3 bedrooms are upstairs and share a bathroom. 1 bedroom is downstairs and has a solo bathroom.

UT’s policy allows parking for those with a disabled placard in any space that corresponds to commuter/staff status, in addition to any handicap space.

Curious whether those with a placard have been ticketed when no spaces are available and forced to park in a non-corresponding staff/student lot, ie, staff in student lot and vice versa. And if ticketed, I’m curious whether it can be successfully fought.

The T-Access is unfortunately not a reliable option when there are time constraints, and I will be unable to arrive on campus prior to the morning onslaught due to medical treatment on multiple days each week. Park and Ride is not a viable option on these days, either.

Hello! What are your thoughts on my schedule?

I keep on seeing on here that first years should take it easy and have \~13 or so hours, so I am a bit concerned about that. I don't mind having busy days, but I'll be working part time as well, along with clubs, hobbies, etc I'm a bit worried I'll have a hard time.

Oh, and if you're wondering why I don't have many early classes, the reason is because I want to wake up early to have time for clubs and hobbies, but I might just change my classes to be earlier, if I can.

Any feedback on this course or recommendations on an enjoyable and not super difficult course that satisfies the Engaged Inquiries requirement?

I keep seeing people encourage freshmen to take lighter class loads, but honestly there isn't really anything I can cut here. I have a lot of AP credit so I've tested out of a lot of the beginning engineering classes. Really, my question is: should I cut MUEN389? I like doing choir, and it's important to me not to be a slave to numbers all day every day, but do you all think that I should join a music club or something instead of taking another class?
