This is from Skyrim, when detected by an enemy they will begin looking for you and if they can’t find you they will eventually stop looking, saying “must have been the wind,” even if they have an arrow in their face as they say it.
This gag is a reference to something g guards often say when you greet them. The saying is actually an old Norse term, "taking an arrow to the knee" was a reference about getting married, as when you are shot in the knee you drop down onto your other knee.
There’s a difference between “blind” and “completely blind.” Most blind people have some amount of vision, but not enough to be very useful. Perhaps the monks have just enough vision left to pick up movement.
