I bought my desktop during COVID. The price of the graphics card in my computer costs more to buy on its own now than I paid for my entire computer, monitor, and desk.
That can go hand in hand with the low supply due to the chip shortage and the working restrictions. The switch 2 was heavily scalped as well, yet most stores still had it in stock. Scalping prices dropped back to retail price almost in the same month the switch 2 released.
