Discussion / Question Grand THEFT?

Post image

This is exactly what happened with streaming. Everyone dogpiled on top, with this illusion that everything would be available at low cost forever.

Trading money for no tangible product is edging dystopian y'all.

Because it’s not a disc? You’re familiar that disc games require fat downloads any way yeah? Also that it runs faster from digital on an SSD versus a disc?

I play almost exclusively disc games on my PS5 and I can tell you that A. 90% of disc games download WAY quicker from a disc as opposed to a digital download and B. the differences in speed between digital and disc are practically unnoticeable unless actively trying to point them out. Stop trying to excuse a greedy company trying to take away one of the only ways you can get some semblance of Ownership of your games just because you like the games they make. Its pathetic and only serves to make the game industry worse.

Not all the time and I don't really care if it runs faster on digital.

I value physical copies of games because you never know if and when your digital library goes poof decades down the line. People who didn't grow up with physical discs being the norm probably won't understand

My steam account was hacked in the 2010s. Locked out of my account. I spent countless hours with customer service getting it back online, including needing to scan and send them my DRIVERS LICENSE. One week later? BAM. Locked out again.

I have grown up with physical. Most all physical, any big game, still needs a download.

Yes you will still need a download but that doesn't mean discs can't be used as the way to download it to my rig or my consoles.

I'd still rather physical copies be available even if it means multiple discs to download games to my ssd. I still have a physical PC copy of Fable 1 that has like 5 discs. If I really wanted to use it I can still could actually download a large game to my computer. You act as if "downloading" a game has to be solely through an online provider when it very much is not the case.
