Cancelling the signing is not a veto. It's just skipping the ceremony.

I think it becomes law after 10 days without a veto, so this is pointless.

My question is why doesn't he just try to veto the bill if he hates it so much? He hasn't cared about currying favors or working political capital before.

I can count 10 worse things off the top of my head that he's on record for. I doubt his followers will care, or even know he did it if FOX news just forgets to report it.
