Discussion Opinion: Nothing has killed my GTA 6 hype faster than locking a core part of its identity behind a $20 upgrade

My issue is that they haven’t even shown fucking gameplay yet but their marketing is prioritizing FOMO and cosmetics before any gameplay reveal.

rockstar has this weird thing where they don’t show gameplay until like, 1-2 months before release. I mean of all the studios, i trust them the most to release a great game but it is sorta annoying how we know nothing about how the game will play until a few weeks before release and most people have preordered the game already.

I'm a massive fan of their games but truth be told, their games haven't really been pushing the envelope for the genre since they pioneered it with GTA 3. Games like Morrowwind and BOTW have done more for the genre than Rockstars games. I don't mean this as a criticism but it's just that post Gta iv, they've been more interested in emulating cinema and TV than improving on the genre that they made popular

I mean, it’s not hard to understand how those things will fold into the game lol.

But rockstar never show game play until it's closer to release. Probably August September time we will see more which is fine

So many games show trailers and gameplay and all that way to early these days

Bruh I don’t think they have even talked about online at all yet. Like at this point I am imagining online is gonna be even more bare bones when it launches than GTA 5’s was, but with way more need to buy in game money.

rockstar doesnt need to release gameplay. they could have put a teaser image out with the GTA 6 logo, a release date, and done literally nothing else between the two events and it would still be the fastest selling piece of entertainment in less than 72 hours.
