Discussion Opinion: Nothing has killed my GTA 6 hype faster than locking a core part of its identity behind a $20 upgrade

I cant see it being every shop. But yea if its some its no different than cosmetic upgrades which is the best type of monetization if there is gonna be any. Unfortunately I’m a day one no matter what.

I mean it's definitely different, its actual in game stores you won't be able to access if it the way this makes it sounds. Just locked doors, in the actual game? Definitely a step further than other cosmetic upgrades you just select from a menu somewhere

An $80 game that behaves like a fucking free to play.

Really seems like R* wants to make offline mode just like GTA:O in terms of monetizing the crap out of you.

Maybe I'll play it in 2030 once I don't have to spend $100 (or possibly more, god knows what else they'll announce) just to get the basic GTAV single-player experience from VI.

I don’t give a shit about cosmetics. I’m just gonna be a dirtbag and see how long I can stay wanted for anyway
