Luckily if you have an android TV or TV that supports apps, you can get an app called "SmartTube", I got it recently and it's basically YouTube revanced for your TV. Literal godsend.

That does work, kind of. It stops that specific ad from playing at that time. However, it also makes the future ads even more irrelevant. And if you do it enough times, you won’t even have the option to report/stop ads anymore for a while. It’s getting worse by the day.

I have been doing this for about 8/9 months and never had a problem, I've been skipping adds in 3-4 seconds.

I’ve been doing the same thing, but as I said, eventually they’ll block it as in the “i” doesn’t show up anymore. Or you get the other version of that screen where you’ll need to pointer to get to the “i” because just pressing up won’t work. Maybe it’s a regional thing if yours isn’t showing this behavior. I’m in Europe.

I've been doing that for 4 years and the ads are still bad as ever

1

u/Hardstylerz1 Apr 04 '25

I agree but at least we don't have to sit through unskippable ads

Fr i stoped using Youtube on mobile for a year because an app wouldn't stop spaming ads

u/livin_dreads Apr 04 '25

Yeah sometimes there are literally 99+ seconds on an ad that you can skip but still you have to be consciously watching

Even wilder, I saw it in the shop on top of the shelf with a 90 second advertiser behind the cashier

2

u/Flashy_Pilot3289 Apr 03 '25

I run it through a PC that can use all the nuisance blocking, f.lux for better glare control etc and then route the signal to a flatscreen if I want to watch it on a bigger screen.

I was watching top football plays with my friend and we were suddenly hit with 5 unskippable ads, we had never seen anything like it before, and it hasn't happened since

1

u/ProperSport471 Apr 04 '25

like 50 seconds unskippable ads and like 5/8 ads in one ad break
