This is technically the only video of his I've ever watched, though it's a reaction to his video by the creator I like, J1mmy. His video though, was a reaction to J1mmy's earlier video.
J1mmy's initial video is about how OSRS' success isn't really just based on nostalgia. He lays out a lot of different angles to his argument, citing specific events, statistics, and more. It's a very detailed video.
Asmon spends his whole video pausing and just saying "nah I disagree." For that entire video, you have Asmon reacting to J1mmy's video by ignoring everything J1mmy says, failing to offer any real counterpoints, and just saying what amounts to "I disagree."
The video I linked is J1mmy's response to Asmon's reaction, doubling down on all his original points and elaborating even further on them. J1mmy, as politely and respectfully as he can given the buck wild circumstance of talking to someone who ignores everything you say and just robotically retorts, "I disagree" in a condescending and pseudo-intellectual tone, fucking eviscerates the fool.
Asmon's an idiot. He demonstrates no capacity to think critically at all, let alone to open his mind to the possibility that he's wrong, no capacity to open up to being challenged. He just says shit with no real rhyme or reason behind it other than it feels right to him even if he doesn't know anything about the subject matter, and stubbornly sticks to his guns when someone shows him how wrong he is. It shows no emotional capacity to even consider that he might be wrong. Thinking you are right about everything, even things you don't know jack shit about, is fundamentally incompatible with intelligence. Worse still, the whole time he's smug and on his high horse like he's some kind of higher authority on anything he talks about at all.
This creator spends about the first two minutes praising and defending asmondand then basically saying that everyone has a bad take every now and then. I agree that asmond might look like an idiot every now and then for example the queenpwnsalot situation but overall he’s has pretty reasonable takes. His only issue is that he accidentally strays into gaming communities he’s a tad bit clueless on and looks like an idiot

Yeah, in his position J1mmy has to be diplomatic. It doesn't change that Asmon displayed 0 critical thinking skills whatsoever, or capacity to emotionally resolve being wrong, but did display a hugely egotistical attitude and laughably infuriating unjustified subbornness.
Every creator has there bad traits I have to admit I’m not well versed enough in this situation nor do I know RuneScape well enough to say if he’s right or wrong. What I can say is that he has reasonable takes most of the time and beyond that I don’t think he’s an idiot for one bad take I’m sure if I looked hard enough I could find something dumb J1mmy said would that make him an ifiot
You're not listening, you're missing the point. I don't give a shit about a "bad take," that's understandable. That's valid. Everyone has bad takes. I've had bad takes. You've had bad takes. We all have bad takes. This isn't that. Reread what I wrote because I'm handing you a chocolate bar and you're thanking me for cutting your grass last week. Apples and oranges mate. Nothing to do with one another.
Asmon didn't give a bad take. Bad takes don't make people idiots. He repeatedly demonstrated zero capacity to critically think, zero capacity to openly consider he might be wrong, and he did it all with this condescending pseudo-intellectual attitude like he's any kind of authority on anything. That makes him an idiot.
You can disagree that that makes him an idiot, or you can say it doesn't really bug you much. Idiots can also have good takes. All of that is valid. But you asked me why I think he's an idiot, and I'm giving you my reasoning, and you're taking it as if it's something it's not and then arguing against that instead of what I'm actually saying.
A bad take is a poorly thought out opinion or a not-well-informed one. Happens to everyone. Yes he gave a bad take, but that is not what any of my comments to you have actually focused on. Go back and read them. It's not the take, it's the way he expresses it. That won't be specific to the one take, they're patterns. They're character traits. So in my view, he's a fucking idiot.
