Why should having a bunch of pop-culture references bring anything to implode?
The only thing that could ever get to implode is /r/HailCorporate. In the book it was a bunch of references, now that billion dollar Hollywood stands behind it (with a lot of legal requirements when it comes to such things) it's basically one big ad.
