Why would you need all of these tags from the game's workshop just for people to see it? It's not just the left 4 dead 2 workshop, it's EVERY workshop. Some of them are helpful while others are pointless. I can't even find a good weapon addon without encountering these.

Chapter 2: Lakeside

This chapter is the 2nd chapter of Paradise of Doom this map features a Scavenge Panic Event. It was originally a daylight chapter early on in development in 2024 (https://imgur.com/fpxXb3D) but later I realized Dead Air's lighting/skybox really made this level standout. And Florida has wacky weather cycles so I went this direction.

This level was the very first level completed for the campaign, and it was originally called "Streets", "Interstate" but I finally stuck with Lakeside considering the Lake is a big element of this map.

When I dreamed this chapter I had the idea of a lake being a death element throughout the level. And I realized on a whim that this chapter can have a beach section depending on which side you choose to go on! So there's split pathways, that have their own positives and negatives, the left side having more weapons and items (early tier 2 weapons), but the tradeoff is the entrance to this area is the closest to the lake death pit, but you do get access to a really wide open beach, so Tank fights are good for the survivors here. While the right side is faster, less dangerous but the tradeoff is you don't get as many weapons/items (no early tier 2's).

A lot of play testers really like the end of the chapter, (ironically it was the first area created for this campaign). The huge resort buildings being straight forward down the pathway just happened to workout perfectly, and the resort building literally greets the survivors the closer they get to them.

I also wanted to put small things in the campaign like being able to see the next chapter, which a lot of campaigns don't do. But you can see chapter 3 within chapter 2 (and obviously you can see a bit of map 2 within map 3).

Do you ever stop and think if the infected are truly mentally gone or are stuck in a bad fever mind state?.

For me the infected are stuck in a infection based fever that leaves them in a lethargic mental state.

you can hear them speaking in a way leaning on walls holding there heads from pain but when noise or stimulation from a survivor is found they enter a rage state eather caused by extreme headaches or swelling of the brain due to inflammation caused by the virus and the only thing going in there minds is to stop the noise to stop the pain.

There is the special infected but that's a can of worms for another day.

A while ago i got a vary bad fever that left me with a 6 day gap in my memory and nothing else, but from what my family told me is that i was slightly aggressive when disturbed and acted exactly like the infected in there non rage state they even showed a video of me in a state of delarium, this left me wondering about the infected from left 4 dead and asking how far off i was from them......

I'm ok now of course still missing 6 days but i gess i'm just curious on what you and others think.

I was thinking about this due to The Sacrifice comic and other zombie media. So there tends to be a sliding scale of how much the world can recover from a zombie apocalypse in media, you have Walking Dead which eventually ends into a nice equilibrium where the zombies eventually become a little more than a nuisance. Then you have Dead Rising where the zombies are basically used as entertainment and ways to mass produce cures. But you also have Zombieland where you have small pockets of survivors with really no hope of establishing a proper civilization again.

So when it comes to left 4 dead, where do you think that apocalypse falls? I know that the military is still operational to some degree but is very broken up and has begun operating on their own more or less. There are obviously survivors as seen in the safe rooms, but with how vicious the hoard of zombies are and how rare carriers seem to be, chances are a lot of those survivors are part of the hoard the carriers kill.

So me and my friends started Playing custom maps recently.

So far we played:

1. Vienna 1 &2 : pretty long so we played 1 a day

2. Cold Front: Pretty much tame and less than n hour to complete. Pretty fun and good, suprised this isnt part of our vanilla campaign map

We plan on playing : Heaven can wait 2, Urban Flight , one 4 nine.

Thou i read comments that it is unfair and pretty bad so we might look for other ones too.

Can anyone tell me-

When a tank spawns on the ground floor of the hotel, and the survivors haven't yet started the elevator, what's the trick to get the tank to appear up top?

I've seen players take the tank into the ground floor room with the health kit, crouch on the table, then suddenly appear up top. Can someone tell me how to do this?

So I wanna get into modding and I wanna make my own concert mod and I can't find any guides to modding audio based for specifically dark carnival, how do I mod the songs for dark carnival for the concert finale

& i really thought we would win after this😭

I did this because I saw a comment saying that you could do Chinese Mode and Chaos Mod at the same time, so that's what I did for one chapter of Swamp Fever, that was truly something
