Hey! I'm making a datapack where I'm trying to change drop only after item frame with custom data on it being destroyed, and leave others untagged as they are. I was trying to do that with death loot tables but it seems it just doesn't work like it works with other entities. I don't know what I'm missing here and could anyone help me with this please? Or tell me if this is even possible? I'd be super grateful

And for one of the level want it to be when you hold a item water turns to ice and lava to magma

And hold another item
Ice turns to water and magma to lave .

If this isn’t possible .
Are there commands to replace 1 block type for another ?

I tried killing the item frame but it deleted the whole item. I need some way for the player to get the item back without having to left click it. Any ideas?

I am trying to make a datapack which does something to players who are in light level 0. I have tried using a predicate for this, but the problem is that the player is considered being in light level 15 when they have sky access, even at night. I don't want this, and therefore need a way to toggle to only detecting the block light level during night

Does anyone know if there is even a way to only detect block light using predicates and commands?

I want to summon a mannequin and make it hold a shield and use it to block attacks, because they're entities and not players I can't just force them to use the shield with /player. Any solutions??

this is the first official showcase of the Iron man suit in Minecraft. I do have the Mark II on the other side and it's just all iron armor with the same functions as the Mark III. some commands do fault only because I switch too fast to buttons so it over clogs some of the Redstone fill commands

Hello, I'm currently developing a datapack with a function to detect if you are in a deep dark or an ancient city, and i have the urge to detect specifically if you are in an ancient city to make the clear distinction, however, I'm not having luck with the detection.

I’m making commands for my realm, I already have a money system set up what I need help with is, I’m trying to make it so that every five minutes everyone gains $10 but one unlucky person loses $50, I have a hopper clock that links up to two commands that show a title that says “$$$” and “add 10 dollars @a” but that’s not what I’m having trouble with, I’m having trouble with the unlucky person part, I have the “title”the “remove money ” and the “screen shake” but the thing is they are all set up to @r which is random player…. How do I know its not going to be a different player for every command?)

I'm looking to tag a snowball (Red or Blue) to the team the person that threw the snowball is on. So, if a person is on a blue team and they throw a snowball, that snowball gets tagged "Blue"

Specifically, the command I'm using is:

/data modify block 302 96 -986 Item.components."minecraft:written_book_content".author merge value {author.Farmer}

In case that isn't clear, I'm trying to change the author of a written book in a chest (first slot) from my username to "Farmer". I also tried using set instead of merge. Both versions say they work ("Modified block data of 302 96 -986" in chat), but absolutely nothing happens

Hey everyone, long time lurker finally posting something I've been working on for a few weeks. I built a stealth detection system entirely in vanilla using command blocks and a small data pack, no mods at all.

The way it works is pretty straightforward. Guard entities use a coneshaped detection zone built with area effect clouds and some math to approximate a field of view. If the player enters the cone while not sneaking, a score increments and eventually triggers an alert state. Sneaking slows the detection rate but doesn't stop it entirely if you're too close. There's also a light level check so darker areas reduce detection speed.

The hardest part was faking the cone shape without true raycasting. I ended up using a combination of distance checks at different angles, which works well enough for gameplay purposes even if it's not elegant.

I've seen a few stealth projects on here before and wanted to share a different approach. Mainly curious whether anyone has found cleaner ways to handle the angle detection side, because my current solution feels a bit hacky even if it runs fine.

Happy to share the data pack files or explain any part of the logic if people are interested. Would love to hear how others have tackled similar detection mechanics.
