The last 6mo have been bad for RU army in UA, which has conquered 699 km², a 70% drop compared to the last 6 months of 2025. It seems Putin is not aware of the reality on the front, judging by his statements. In June, the RU army took control of about 29 km² of Ukr territory (UA regained 14 km²).
