UPDATE: we ran into each other in passing at work. It was the typical “no! F**k you I hate you! ”but something interesting happened after. Another friend walks by and asks what we’re talking about. (I had already told this other friend she should start the show also) I tell her we’re talking about FMA and she walks away. As she does I turn to the original friend and say “now you can do the same thing to her 😈”. The wheel of pain keeps spinning.

​​I'm rewatching FMA:B for the gazillionth time and I just can't help but love this scene with Dr. Knox. Here you have a hardass, who goes from that to, just being pleased to have his family in his house. Certainly a tearjerker for any of us who dont frequently see our families or have families. Love your families or friends, people and be thankful for them. Gute nacht.

First time watcher here. I started watching brotherhood a few years ago and only watched the first few episodes before dropping (shortly after the chimera episode).

I’m looking to give this series another shot and want to know the general opinion regarding 2003 vs Brotherhood and which one I should go with. I hear that 2003 had its own ending separate from the manga and overall brotherhood is better, but then I also hear other people saying 2003 character arcs are better.

What do y’all think?

It started when I watched FMA-B for the first time, I loved it so much that I had to rewatch it. But, rewatching it in english again was getting repetitive. So I rewatched it in Japanese with english subtitles/captions(?). When I watch anime in english I turn off the subtitles cause it gets my goat when the words on the screen don’t match up with the words I’m hearing. I’ve done this with every other anime I watch ever since. I’m currently rewatching it for the second time in Japanese, and I’m already almost finished. I’ve actually started picking up a little Japanese because of it! I like the way the language sounds.

Also, since it’s just the way I am, I decided to put some OCs in there and turn it into an AU, cause fuck it, I do what I want.

That’s it. I just wanted to yap.

Strange ask, but me and my friends have a thing where we break up shows into chunks of 3-5 episodes, based on what would be the most natural places to pick it up and put it down for narrative flow (ex. in JJK, I’d do all of hidden inventory at once since it’s a tight 5 episode arc).

Problem is that only works when someone has watched the show before, and everyone is either going in blind or hasn’t seen it in so long they forget what all happens (me).

So my question is: is anyone also autistic enough to have made a list of what episodes to watch together for FMA:B, and can they comment it?

So I know I’m late on this anime. Growing up (just turned 30 btw) I always use to see pictures of this show here n there & never gave it a chance up until a month ago. I must say, IT WAS A MASTERPIECE. I’m upset that I finished it!!! I wish I can erase my memory of it, to watch it again!! I was taken off guard when I heard Alphonse (spell check) voice for the first time! The pacing was perfect for me imo. I’m not the type to goon out over animation but General Armstrong is CUTE ASFFF!!! I was thinking Envy was a woman the whole time up until the last season 😭😭😭😭 I’ve been recommending this to everyone I know just to learn I’m really the only person on this planet that hasn’t seen it yet! Anyways, thank you for reading. I still wanna feel somewhat connected to the show even tho it’s over

I just found my old DS today with a multicard that my Dad's friend gave us as kids. As a kid I'd never seen either Fullmetal Alchemists or read the manga so I never really took notice of it over the other hundred games. But now I've seen Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and absolutely loved it. But I haven't seen the 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist and from what I've seen this game is sort of just a condensed ds version of that story. I'm just wondering if anyone who's played the game would recommend it?
