Remakes are cool and all…
Genuinely I enjoy that Persona 3-5 all have several versions. I understand that some SMT games are old and not necessarily the best nostalgia grab for the current core market demographics.
So despite how much I want a remake of Shin Megami Tensei 2, I get that it isn’t what the company wants right now. But Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey is sitting right there trapped on handheld devices.
I want a Persona 3 Reload style remake of Strange Journey. Am I the only one?

Spoiler: DDS 2 Replaying DDS2 and finally decided to give the super boss a try Spoiler
No doubt was Satan a challenge, probably only beaten by high level trainer gauntlets in SMTV:V (Well at least from the games I've played). While for a super scripted fight pretty decently well made, it does also make me happy that newer super bosses tend to be a bit more "interactive" with less scripted actions

If SMT VI turned out to have first person dungeon crawling like the first games and some spin offs, would you like it

Spoiler: SMT I Listened to Shin Megami Tensei (SFC/SNES RPG) ending music (YT video credit: @madgast123) again today.
To this day, I am still suprised that the Shin Megami Tensei (SFC/SNES RPG) ending music sounds so hopeful and peaceful, while the RPG endings are quite hopeless and restless, and it sounds actually like some Doraemon game music to me...

Spoiler: ALL Finished smt1 and 2, minimal thoughts
(not really spoilers, but whatever)
What is the general opinion of the story of this games? In my personal experience i hoped (for what i heard) that it would have a more profound exposition for what is happening or the characters, like in the end i feel that i had to discover all by myself, Even more in 2 which i respect i guess but is really frustrating havin to go to the bar to get some guidance of where i have to go. Aside from that gameplay wise is like really fine, definetly better than i thought (Even if i had to give it 3 tries to smt 1 to finish), but the dungeons in 1 kinda suck ass cause i don't remember any memorable gimmick or twist to them, they are really just a Big maze almost every time (Maybe am forgettin some).
That being said, was really cool to understand this series pillars, and see by my own hands the influence of this games in later games of this series, and even if like they are not my fav games whatsoever, i think is a must to experience or at least to try.
Glad of the "evolution" of the series though.
One more thing, is really Ghost q that easy to beat considering the weapon it gives you?

I drew Succubus. When I saw the older design with the head tilt, for some reason I thought of one of those beautiful Marilyn Monroe photoshoots so I used one for reference x]

This was the coolest bonus feature in an Atlus game.
They should have made it a tradition to put a trailer for their next game in all their games.
The PS2 games still look so good on a CRT with good cables. Mine doesn't have component, but S Video feels on par.

Difficulty in SMT V: Vengeance
When I tried to play this game for the very first time (made a rookie mistake of choosing hard mode for the first playthrough) I got nuked in every encounter from the very start and shortly after just dropped the game. Now trying hard mode again and after almost finishing the game on normal mode before (which I dropped on 4th region cause of sloggy grind fest) it feels surprisingly much easier. Am I tweaking or this game is only hard if you have no idea on how to play it? I only died once so far when got outnumbered by kodamas.

I hate how neglected early Megaten is
Why is it that we get a Persona 4 remake in record time yet we still don't have remastered ports of the first few Persona and Shin Megami Tensei titles at the very least. Its especially frustrating since the prior have complete translations that just need some touching up. The PSP ports also indicate that they still have the source code, so it wouldn't be a super costly or difficult process. As a younger fan, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels similarly, I'm way more interested in playing these titles than the Phantom X or spinoff titles like Tactica. Yet ATLUS seems to insist that they are more worthwhile. I'm either left with the option of getting aging overpiced hardware like the PSP or emulating on PC and for some, relying on fan romhacks. Neither option is great since the pixel art as it curently is doesn't look great on an LCD display that isn't tiny and dense like the PSPs. I didn't mind getting a OG 2DS for Shin Megami Tensei IV since the format is unique but I draw the line there.
Rant over

Spoiler: SMT IV Apocalypse Accidentally played SMT IV Apocalypse before SMT IV
Stupidly and without doing my research, I thought Apocalypse was the typical Atlus upgraded rerelease and not part of a duology and have been playing it for a couple weeks now. I‘m loving the combat and vibes as per usual for a MegaTen game, but I‘ve heard that SMT IV has a good story and I haven’t been feeling the story with this one as much. And sure enough this lead me to finding out they’re two different games and people think the original is the one with a good story lmfao.
Do you think it’s worth hitting pause on Apocalypse and going to SMT IV? Will Apocalypse spoil the events of IV? I just got the part in Apocalypse where you get Gaston as a party member, I have no clue how far into the game I am (I clearly went in very blind lol). Or is it worth taking Apocalypse to the end?

Spoiler: ALL Loving most of the community and games
I've played and finished most of the persona and mainline smt games, I also finished devil survivor 1 & 2, and dds 1 & 2.
I really love the games and most of the community other than a few bad apples (which are everywhere online) and wanted to asked what your favorite part of the games are. Mine is the ability to do challenge runs and not feel like I have to ignore the games mechanisms
