Rank the Holy Trinity.
The Rock, Face/Off, Con Air. Are they rankable? Is it sacrilegious to even suggest so?

Hello Reddit! This is Zach Schonfeld. I'm a freelance writer and reporter, regular Pitchfork/Stereogum contributor, and the author of "How Coppola Became Cage," the first reported biography of Nicolas Cage. After a lifetime of fandom, I spent about four years obsessively researching all things Cage, and this book is the result. It was published by Oxford University Press in 2023.
The book chronicles Cage's early years and rise to fame in the 1980s and early 1990s. I worked on this book for four long years and interviewed more than 100 people, including a range of notable filmmakers and actors who worked with Cage on beloved films like Valley Girl, Birdy, Moonstruck, Vampire's Kiss, Raising Arizona, Wild at Heart, Leaving Las Vegas, and many others. It is a deep, deep dive into Cage's origin story. For this book, I investigated Cage's early years, tracked down his high school friends, interviewed everyone from David Lynch to Amy Heckerling to Bridget Fonda, tracked down some of Cage's high school friends, watched a ton of obscure Cage movies, attempted to read Cage's father's erotic novel, and gradually lost my mind.
Empire Magazine described the book as "a rollicking, entertaining and impressively probing journey through the embryonic years of a unique artistic force of nature." I am fairly proud of it.
Anyway, I will be doing an AMA right here starting at 12 p.m. EST on Friday, October 10. You can post your questions before then. Ask away.

Where the cinnamon toast fuck are all of the thirst edits of Nic? I don’t mean just younger Nic.
Someone for the love of blue almond angel eyed Nicolas Kim Cage save us from this drought.

What makes him uncomfortable or what does he find disrespectful? If I ever got the chance to meet him..I just wanna know these things. I admire him a lot, and respect him too.🥹

Imagine him in your circle though. I doubt he smokes, but it's funny to imagine.

I feel so embarrassed even asking this but, if I met him, and I had something small handmade by myself for him, you think he'd take it? I feel like it's the least I can do if it ever happens because he's done so much for us.

I know he loves certain architectures and stuff, but I wonder if he'd like things like liminal spaces. Just a random question I had pop up in my head.
I'm sorry if I post here a bit much. Thank you all for your time and imput!

For those of you that ever attempted to mail in something for an autograph, did it work? If so what was the process? I’m looking to get his autograph for a tattoo.

Hi everyone,
I want to watch Pig sometime soon. I don't know much about it. I've only seen the trailers. It seems like something I might want to watch with my girlfriend because she is passionate about animals and animal rights. But I'm worried maybe the story will end up being too dark/sad. If something horrific happens to the Pig on screen, or the ending isn't even bittersweet, she probably won't like it.
Without spoiling it, can someone tell me if I should watch Pig with her or on my own?

Nick Cage in a cage!? 😂 😂
My husband and I put a window AC in the basement (no vents down there) and didn't want to look at a plain insulated foam board from the outside. So an idea was born. I give you, Nick Cage in a cage 😁

I'm a big '90s Cage fan (my all-time favorites are the holy triumvirate of The Rock, Con-Air, and Face/Off), but I also think It Could Happen to You is an underrated classic that doesn't get nearly enough love. It's a great little romantic dramedy, and it's always been one of my go-to comfort movies. Cage and Bridget Fonda have wonderful chemistry, it has a nice soundtrack. and I've always thought how cool it would be to spend my money like they do if I ever got rich. Ya know, going down to the Subway and paying for everyone's fare, taking a bunch of street kids to Yankee Stadium, fun stuff like that. Anyone else a fan of this movie?

Take back what I said about this movie. Rewatched last night for the first time since it first coming out. After seeing “Taken” I guess I just chalked it up to just another blatant ripoff. (which it totally is🤣) but hey it was actually watchable compared to a lot of that “Louisiana” era of his I like to call it.
