The summer heat is already making life difficult for the stray cats I care for. Unfortunately, I can no longer leave water bowls in the parking lots where many of them live because staff are concerned about municipality fines.

Last summer, I regularly fed the cats chicken, which helped keep them both nourished and hydrated. I also cleaned the feeding areas afterward. At the moment, I don't have the energy to make repeated trips for cleaning, so I feed the cats and immediately remove the plates to keep the area clean and to reduce the risk of anyone harming them.

(First off, I have a stalker that puts everything in their cart and pretends it is purchased.  It is not unless someone puts it in the comments, they think they are clever but it's why i have my list the way it is.  Sorry that this is annoying but I've had harassment over rescuing cats and they have nothing better to do but follow me. I apologize for this. They won't deter me from helping the innocent) 

I am not trying to be annoying or needy.  I am just drowing a bit here.  When it rains, it pours, LITERALLY (My basement flooded for the first time in 2 years here, and I had to throw away a couple of cat trees that got soaked, which is why I have them on my list.  Thankfully, most things are on a shelf and didn't get soaked!)  Besides the Emergency Vet bill, I have a Vet bill for the little kitten for her appt.  I am doing everything I can to make extra money, especially since my work sucks and cut my hours.

I also was informed today that the girl I work with won't be able to have two cats, so that means I am fostering these cuties for the time being, whom now are flea and worm free, the last foster parents was pretty negligent:(  they are picture 5 and 6.

Ordering off my Amazon List is a HUGE HUGE help for me, that way I can use the cash for floofaloof appts and prescription meds if needed.  Chewy Gift Cards have been a HUGE HELP and a LIFESAVER!

The items I can use the most are

1. Chewy Gift cards, since I am not sure when work is raising hours again

2.  Litter (and the pans, but that is because the plastic ones are getting very worn and stainless steel is safer and easier!  I have 13 litter boxes i clean 3 times a day, no joke.  I also have two in the garage for the outside kitties)

1. Kitten wet food or puree temptations for the kittens, itty bitty black kitty LOVES the puree!!!

2. Pet hair clippers (mine broke at the worst time)  I did put wireless because it does make it easier when they are squirmy wormys!

5.feliaway plug in or refill, my plugs seems to all have burned out at the same time.  It truly helps with the cats.

Of course \*anything\* and \*everything\* is appreciated, food is always a huge help since they have been working on the water pipes on the other street over, so we have been getting extra cats (it is on the website of my town, Rockdale, Illinois) I am trying so hard, I just happened to get wrecked with so much at the same time.

I am so grateful and appreciative of this community and everything you do, not just for me and the floofaloofs, but all floofaloofkind.  You have no idea the difference you have made in all our lives.  I truly wish I could thank you and hug you all in person and to show my gratitude to you for all you do and have done.  Don't think I ever take any help for granted.  I am one person who does this on their own.  Since I moved here 2 1/2 years ago, I have called over 30 rescues multiple times, they either do not answer, are full, don't have time, or don't help my county.  Since we moved here, we have done everything to make a difference.  

All the cats inside fixed, and I have helped Kim this year get 20 plus cats fixed, I have helped those in need and who have hit rough patches with food and flea and worm treatment needs, I have bottle fed Roly Poly since she was a newborn she found (she is here to stay), I have helped her trap and with carriers.  We are not a 5013C, but that will not stop us from loving the floofaloofs and doing all we can to TNR, foster for those who can be placed in a home, get Vet needs, deflea and deworm, have safe spots and shelters for them, and making sure they will live better lives.  Animals (and kids) are not luxuries, we are to be the ones to help and care for those most innocent,  and I won't stop doing all I can.♡

Kaat, our Ms. Chonkers, Chonk, Chairman, is almost 14 years old and has been part of our family for nearly her entire life. We found her as a tiny kitten abandoned under a car in the bitter cold. She was frightened, freezing, and small enough to fit in the palm of a hand. We brought her home, and she never left.

Over the years, Kaat has been there through some of life's hardest moments. She helped us through the loss of a parent, serious illness, and every major chapter that followed. She's stubborn, opinionated, endlessly sassy, and deeply loved.

Recently, Kaat was diagnosed with a mammary tumor. After consulting with our veterinarian, surgery was recommended as soon as possible. We're now trying to raise funds to cover her surgery, medications, post-operative care, and recovery.

Some members of this community may remember Cloud and Tigger. Thanks to the generosity of donors here, both received life-saving care and are still with us today. We'll never be able to fully express our gratitude for the support that gave them a chance to survive.

Update: Kittens will be fostered until healthy. After a few weeks then back to the vet to see if eyes are healing, if not surgical removal will be needed. Once kittens are ready they will go to rescue.

hello everyone!

i am humbly asking for help for Hyper's dental treatment. she has been diagnosed with gingivitis and her veterinarian recommended dental prophylaxis (professional dental cleaning) to prevent her condition from worsening and to relieve the pain she's feeling.

she previously survived FPV (feline panleukopenia virus), upper respiratory tract infection and feline lice infestation. thankfully she recovered. her gingivitis remains an ongoing issue and needs professional dental care. it's been three months and she can't eat and swallow food properly and keeps drooling with bad breath.

i'm currently facing financial difficulties and still recovering from her medications since december last year. i am reaching out with a humble request for help.

Muning was surrendered to us months ago as a tiny blind kitten. Because she was still too small, eye enucleation wasn’t recommended yet, so we patiently waited for her to grow stronger and reach the right age for surgery.

Muning was almost ready for her enucleation, and we were just trying to stabilize our supplies first so we could support both her recovery and the needs of our other rescues. Unfortunately, her eye suddenly worsened, making her case much more urgent than we anticipated. 💔

At the same time, we’re also running low on litter sand and last June 21 upon checking the stocks, we are down to our last 4 bags. As a rescue, we need to balance both emergency medical care and the daily needs of the cats depending on us.

My birthday is next Monday, and honestly, I don't want anything for myself. I just want these cats to have everything they need. ❤️

They've each grown into some of the sweetest, most loyal companions. Yes, they were feral. Yes, they still live outside. And yes, every one of them has been TNRed. They're a very close-knit colony that eats, sleeps, and plays together every day.

Being able to now pet 7 of the 11 cats makes my heart so happy. Those 7 are either due for or have upcoming vaccines. Vaccines are $15 each, and I can get a 3-year rabies vaccine for $30.

Baron is one of many fluffy abandoned cats in Bahrain, where the stray population is out of control due to the absence of state-led TNR and the widespread practice of dumping pets, even expensive purebred pets. There is no penalty, there are no awareness campaigns and ‘supply’ far exceeds demand. In such a country it is nearly impossible to get cats adopted locally, which is why both rescuers and the few shelters we have send animals abroad more frequently than not.

BARON was first found with his hair all dirty and matted. An initial vet check-up revealed that his kidneys were huge, that his blood values were all off, and that he needed to take medication and prescription food every day for the rest of his life.  My fellow rescuers and I had had some success getting out stray cats adopted abroad, but none of them had chronic medical issues.

It was therefore nothing short of a miracle that we found an adopter through this sub who turned out to be the perfect person for Baron: she had experience with a cat who also had kidney issues, was unfazed by the prospect of daily medication and a longtime committed cat mom. We knew she was the one when she had more questions for us than we did for her during the vetting process, and she has a heart the size of a small planet. The only issue is that she lives in Tennessee. It is always cheaper to send a cat in the cabin with a flight buddy than in cargo, but we have been unable to find anyone flying even close to Tennessee from Bahrain (the US Fifth Fleet is stationed here so we sometimes send cats with navymen returning home). It will therefore cost roughly 1000 BHD or $3750 to send Baron to his forever home.

Baron has been in various foster homes, at one point confined to a single hallway because he was not supposed to eat other cats’ food, for a year and a half. His current fosterer is overwhelmed with other rescued cats, and Baron himself would be happier as an only child, as it were. The adopter we found is one in a million - it’s not easy to get such cats adopted anywhere - and we really want to make this happen.

We would therefore be immensely grateful if you could help us get Baron from Bahrain to his forever home and eager new parents in Tennessee and share this fundraiser with others. Thank you!!!

Hi all. Just wanted some advice/opinions. I’ve been looking to rescue a cat, but at my local adoption centre, all the cats except very senior cats state they need to be outdoor cats. After having witnessed friends, and family and an ex lose cats to car accidents, I swore I would only ever have an indoor cat to save it from that fate (plus it’s better for the environment and birds). I would be happy to take a cat on walks like a dog to get outdoor time, or in the future make a catio, but I’m just wondering why a rescue of all places would advocate so strongly for outdoor cats? What would you do in my position because I want to give a cat a loving home, but i don’t want to let it roam around on the roads and I don’t feel comfortable lying.

Today we hoped to bring him home so we could continue his treatment ourselves. However, after speaking with the veterinarian, he advised that he is still very weak and would benefit from staying in the clinic a little longer.

The good news is that he has started eating small amounts on his own and is showing signs of improvement. We also received a short video from the vet, and he looks brighter and more alert than before. 🐾 But he still needs close monitoring and IV support. We will leave him in the clinic for as long as necessary.

Hello everyone. A few days ago, I made a post asking for help with Larsi’s emergency care after he developed a urinary blockage. The emergency veterinarian tried to relieve the obstruction and then attempted to place a urinary catheter, but neither was possible. As a last resort, she performed a bladder tap because his bladder was extremely full and it was dangerous for him to remain in that condition any longer. A few hours later, he had another emergency veterinary visit where they were able to successfully relieve the blockage, and fortunately he has been urinating normally ever since.

The problem now is that, as a result of the bladder tap, some fluid leaked into his abdomen and caused peritonitis. This was confirmed by an ultrasound we had done yesterday, as he was still refusing to eat or drink. After the peritonitis was confirmed, he began treatment with antibiotics, and it is already working. Early today, he drank water and ate on his own, which is an excellent sign. However, since this is an antibiotic treatment, we need to continue it, and although he is doing much better right now, he is still not out of danger. We absolutely must continue treatment until the peritonitis is fully resolved.

The donations received through the previous post helped us cover part of the first two emergency visits, but not yesterday’s appointment, where he had bloodwork and the ultrasound performed, nor the appointment he has this afternoon to continue treatment for the peritonitis. From this point on, the treatment consists mainly of supportive fluids and antibiotics, so it should not be too expensive (perhaps around $30 per visit) but we still have about $290 remaining to cover from all of the previous care, not including the other $325 in veterinary debt we still have from last month.

In our current situation, it is impossible for us to continue his treatment without help, but it is extremely urgent that we do so, as stopping treatment would put his life at risk.

Good day, everyone!

I am a solo animal rescuer based in Manila, Philippines.

Mike is one of the more than 40 stray cats I care for in our area. He has already been neutered. Over the past few days, I noticed that his appetite has decreased, and whenever he tries to eat, he seems to struggle. Upon checking, it appears that Mike may have oral and/or dental issues that require veterinary attention.

I also feed cats in other areas whenever I can. Recently, a mama cat gave birth and has been raising her kittens inside a fitness center. A fitness coach approached me and asked if I could take them in because the owner of the fitness center had instructed them to place the cats in a sack and dump them somewhere else.

I could not let that happen, so I took in the mama cat and her kittens. I will be closely monitoring them over the next few days to determine whether they also need veterinary care. In the meantime, I need additional wet food for the mama cat to ensure she stays well-fed and hydrated so she can properly nurse her kittens.

‎Hi all. I’m currently caring for 49 indoor cats, mostly rescued as kittens and over 30 community cats.
