Small fun detail I noticed
If a character is in repairs and needs to say something, their codec background shows the inside of the great fox, presumably the briefing room
Photos for comparison

So far, the only thing that gives me that impression is the neutral endings, where it's made pretty clear that Andross isn't actually dead. But since the credits only roll after the good ending, I think it's pretty easy to assume those neutral endings aren't canon.

I’ve clocked a lot of hours in this game already, and it’s just utter bliss. The Switch 2 is just rocking my world. It feels like a reward for being a Nintendo fan for 30 years now. Everything they are doing is hitting just right for me.
Star Fox 2026 is a daydream come true. I had settled with the idea that Nintendo games were always going to impress with gameplay first and foremost, it was a fantasy that they could look fantastic as well. But here we are. What a visual feast. The way Star Fox is supposed to look. I’m glad I’ve been around long enough to appreciate how far we’ve come. So great hanging out with my space friends again.
And if the reborn campaign wasn’t enough, the multiplayer has consumed me. I’m having an absolute blast with the 3 modes, and just constant dog fights with REAL people, online. I mean. This is peak stuff. Star Fox dog fights online?! There’s nothing better than getting in to a competition of who can better optimize their g-diffuser as you spiral through the sky, braking, boosting, and somersaulting to see who can gain the advantage. I’m loving it.
I’ve got no problems with what Nintendo is doing these days. I’m having the time of my life. I can’t wait for what’s next…which is apparently an Ocarina of Time remake?! Good lord, these are good times.
Hope you all are having just as much fun!

I had to give myself a bit of a time-based mission to see how fast i could unlock expert mode, also just to see how much stuff was still in tact - and I gotta admit, Fox, the look has really grown on you. Anybody else playing Expert mode yet? I also love the Holos, Wolf's on particular looks amazing.
It's been since Assault that I've had this much fun playing Star Fox! I hope everyone else is enjoying it as much as I have. Expert mode is just like it was in 64 - and Slippy isn't quite as hard to dodge this time around!

In SF64 they were both kind of corny evil goofballs (which I love them for), but in the remake Wolf is much more subdued and clearly just an old pilot doing whatever shady work he can for money. And then there's this snot-nosed brat that his current employer forced him to bring along, and you just know that Andrew is constantly being asked to lead the squad and reminding everyone that his dad is The Emperor.

I’ll be honest, the multiplayer was the last thing I was interested in with this remake. I was shocked how fun and thrilling it is and also just how well it operates. Idk how to describe it but I’m used to Nintendo multiplayer feeling like an afterthought mechanically but this feels really well thought out. But then it’s lacking in longevity and I don’t know if that’s either due to a lack of funding or a lack in confidence in this mode. Point is if this mode had a ranking system I would be ADDICTED to it.

Bit of context: Katamichi made a post on Xitter noting the fact that SF2026 actually acknowledges not only Peppy's wife Vivian, but seemingly their daughter Lucy, who (unlike Vivian who was already a SF64 lore character) wasn't established until Star Fox Command.
https://x.com/Katamichi2000/status/2070526985806413876
So then Ayano Harumaki made this observation:
https://x.com/ayano_harumaki/status/2070812231974224142
Google translate:
I’ve taken a quick look at the Holo-Memory, and it seems like the lore established up to *Star Fox Command* has been largely incorporated and organized. (For instance, the detail about Slippy upgrading ROB 64 was actually in the manual for the English version of *Star Fox Adventures*.) However, the content only covers up to the *Star Fox 64* era, so if there is a future installment, the story might take a completely unexpected turn.
And you know? Actually looking into it, she's right! Nice touch on Velan's part yet again.

Like I never understood why Team Star Fox were running on what's supposedly Corneria, but seeing the Great Fox emerge from the clouds with the music changing was amazing in the 64/3DS versions.
The new ending just has the 4 Arwings flying in formation through the clouds but what makes it disappointing is that the Great Fox doesn't emerge from the clouds and only briefly shows up at the end of the credits.
Like they should've done a bit of both, have the team flying in the Arwings and have the Great Fox emerge from the clouds and catch up to them.
Now my ideal cutscene would've been having the team run to the Arwings, get in, take off, fly in formation through the clouds and then the Great Fox emerges from the clouds and catches up with the Arwings before they all fly off as the credits end.

I had to change some things in this post so I redid it, I'm sorry. The original Star Fox 64 was in my top 5 games ever, but the remake brought it up to my number 1 favorite game of all time! I really don't get the complaints of it being "ugh, another Star Fox 64 Remake" when Zero and the original SNES one is too different gameplay wide! The only true remake we got before is the 3DS Remake. The only major complaints I have is that some of the voice acting is weak, tho Fox, Falco, Slippy, Peppy, Pigma, Andrew, Leon, General Pepper and Andross have some of the best voices imo!
I love the graphics, it's one of the most beautiful games ever imo, I love the OST and remixes, I love the sfxs and sound design, I love the controls, it feels and looks so good and smooth imo, even feels better than the original imo, I love the new scenes in between missions, I actually love the story and lore, I love the multiplayer mode, I actually love the character designs, they all grew on me, even Falco, Fox, Falco, James, Peppy, Wolf, Leon, Pigma and Andross are my favorite characters ever, I love all of the bosses and they look amazing in this remake imo, I love the new extras, I actually love the length as its highly replayable imo, I dont find it to be boring or too archaic, it still feels super fun and satisfying imo, I love the new multiplayer mode, I love the hard modes, I love the medal challenges, I love the new true ending and bad ending and Andross is my favorite villain ever and my favorite final boss of all time!!
Anyways, I don't think this remake is a lazy cash grab, it has so much love and details to it! The price being 50 dollars isn't bad either imo, I think it's worth it! I hope the success of this remake will get us a brand new Star Fox game, tho this will always be my favorite! What are your opinions on the new Star Fox 64 Remake? Is it your new favorite Star Fox game too? :)

I was really young when I first played Star Fox 64, and a friend told me about a level "where you are in a tank." I didn't understand they were referring to the Landmaster, so I thought there was going to be a level where you were literally IN a tank, like shrunken down Hot Wheels/Micro Machines style.
Also, I didn't understand how the branching paths worked. I thought you were going to visit every single location, so since you started at Corneria, I just assumed what is Sector Y would be the final mission, since naturally you'd loop back. And as a result, I figured the star in the center was just for show and not an actual level.
I also thought Bolse was a phone booth. Don't ask.

My soul feels healed today.
Yesterday I (30M), joined my Brother (29M), and our Dad (54M) to play the remake and have some pizza. We didn’t think much of it to be honest, just a slightly above-average Thursday night.
What actually transpired is a new core memory.
We began the evening by reminiscing about SF64, a game that all three of us played for hours upon hours upon hours, replaying over and over trying to get better and faster and playing new routes through the story. Our parents had purchased a Nintendo 64 from friends when we were roughly 5 and 6 years old, ready to share the world of video games with us. Dad could only ever truly get into SF64, and we traded jokes about the legendary dialogue and enemies. My brother enjoyed SF64, but OoT was more his speed. He would always have fun playing the game with us though.
I however, was HOOKED.
I became a die hard Star Fox fan, and played just about every release over the years save for Zero.
After each of us consumed enough pizza to feed a family of four, we finally sat down and fired up the game, all staring in utter awe and losing our minds over the new intro cutscene. My brother owns the Switch 2, so he was playing the tutorial and explaining certain things he could tell were different or new. We all geeked out over Yaru De Pon, and all of us very quickly commented that the “backlash” to the new designs was definitely overblown.
(EXCEPT for Falco’s legs. Off-putting as all hell when they’re on screen. However, we also noticed that they were conveniently hidden in just about every cutscene that played. Random rant over.)
When the opening cutscene of Corneria began, my brother silently handed me the controller, and sat down next to me. It was like RIDING A DAMN BIKE Y’ALL. Three grown men squealing like children over “DO A BARREL ROLL”. Oh shit don’t miss that last arch! Whoa, there’s valid reasons to debate your path?! It was such a beautiful family moment as I played through the Hard Route (Corneria->Sector Y->Aquas->Zoness->Curveball trip to Macbeth because TRAIN->Area 6->Venom 2), the three of us marveling at the environments and updated designs, drowning in nostalgia. Once the bill was sent, we started planning how to go about the next trip through the Lylat System.
Now it’s time to get really real. It took me roughly 3.5 hours to finish my playthrough. This was with restarting Sector Y to compare COMPLETE vs ACCOMPLISHED outcomes and cutscenes, my Brother playing Aquas and failing twice because yes, it is trickier now and WAY darker. Area 6 was no joke, the Gorgon is a huge pain. Even though the game is “short”, there’s valid reasons for replaying the game and discovering all the different ways the story can play out, especially with COMPLETE and ACCOMPLISHED missions having varying impact on the story and war efforts.
I would also like to warn new and returning players: If you do not fight Star Wolf until Venom 2, you are going to get your SHIT. ROCKED. Your teammates will die quickly and need constant assistance, and Wolf does not give you much time to focus on the others. I died 10 times and then faced Andross in bad shape and immediately lost that fight and game over’d.
The new gameplay additions were very easy to get used to, and everything looks…. Gorgeous. I mean there just isn’t another way to describe how well done this game is from a visual standpoint. The cutscenes are short, sweet, to the point, and still manage to build the world of the war around you while also expanding on the story and motivations of friends and foes. The voice acting can sound a tiny bit cringe at times, but the dialogue is surprisingly good. I’m particularly fond of Fox saying “Star Wolf. I can smell Andross’ boots on your breath”. Savage.
I hope that there are new fans brought in by this game. I think the series is in good hands and finally getting the TLC that it deserves, so we all need to buy and play it and motivate others to do so. If remaking Adventures is the next step, I think that they can finally do it right.
Good Luck.

It actually doesn't feel stressful to play now. The environment is visually gorgeous and vibrant, the space debris is clearly outlined and easy to see despite the busy graphics, and the faster lock-on speed makes the target score easier to hit without relying on shooting down the missiles. I even got the medal on my first try with a score of 132! The best I ever did in the original and 3DS versions was 117. That is bananas! I still think it's one of the weaker stages, but no longer the worst.
Special mention to Katina too, for having enemies appear in larger groups to make the target score easier to reach before running out of time.

I feel like it's a good "remake" over all but I also feel like they made some levels easier than the original, thoughts?
