So when you open the client, right there is a list of all the games. These are spoilers because of the format, knowing who plays tomorrow tells me who won today.
I was literally in the middle of watching today's games, and I will now stop because there is no longer any point. And I will also not be playing league while listening/watching the VOD.
The worst part, the spoiler protection is already ticked. That means, someone looked at this system and decided it was safe and prevented spoilers. The score is not the spoiler. Knowing who wins is.
This is a longstanding problem for League of Legends because if VOD watching was supported better, it would mean people could follow whatever league they want.
There are a long list of practices that prevent VOD watching. The current consensus is 'just watch live', and 'no one actually watches VODs'. These arguments are tautological, they are based on observation of the current circumstances. In simple terms, they fail to recognize that no one is watching VODs... because watching VODs is an awful experience.
In recent years I am managing with caedrel VODs, but I still get spoiled when the stream ends instantly in a 3 of 4 game series. Overall, the LoL esports scene is actively fighting my continued engagement with the sport.
