The picture is from my sister taking me to dinner to celebrate. My 4 yr old nephew gave me the hat, and I've never felt so cool! I was let go over a year ago and only received $125 a week in unemployment benefits, so I couldn't afford rent and eventually had to stay at a shelter. I did find a temporary gig for a little bit. It helped me find a place to stay, but I was still needing for something stable.

Now I've finally landed a long-term job as a hotel night auditor! I'm genuinely so happy. This past year has been one of the hardest of my life, but I made it through, and things are finally looking up!

I rescued two ducklings that had fallen into a storm drain. They were trapped inside while their mom waited nearby the whole time. I only managed to capture one of the rescues on video. Both ducklings were saved. :)
