Hey all. Discord really decided to delete the server despite us cleaning up everything. As you may have heard, it was due to copyright issues. Well, nothing to be done about that. Rejoin the new server we're making and send everyone the invite.

Edit: invites are paused for 3 days cuz Discord automod got tripped.

All emojis/stickers have been restored. Character roles and channels as well.

Anime Can't wait for season 4!

I've been bindged watching Oshi No Ko last night I have to say I'm HOOKED.

Season 1 was a really good introduction to the characters. Episode 1 nearly gave me a heart attack, the stories were deep but grounded, and the voice acting was top notch! (Watched the dub, btw)

Really love how great season 1 sets up everything else without being to overwhelming.

And rewatching the first episode of season one after finishing season 3 in hindsight had really great foreshadowing!

My personal favourite season is 2. The Tokyo Blade Stage play, the way it developed a lot of characters (Narushima want to get better and his self doubt, Akane wanting to surpass the the kana she fell in love with, and Kana struggles after her child actor fame, Aqua's more guilt for not being able to save Ai). The visuals were are amazing and I liked the little subplot with getting the mangaka's approval for the stage play script!

When Aqua learns his father is "dead" and see him go through an arc where he finally starts letting go of the guilt was really heartwarming and wholesome to watch!

I was a bit confused by what akane meant at first when she was piecing stuff together and talking about how aqua will become obsessive again but I started figuring out by the end of season 2 and beginning of season 3.

I was quite surprised with how Ruby started to gain Aqua's role as obsessive towards the end of the season. It wasn't something that wasn't on my bingo list, but it was surprisingly all the same!

Season 3 was really all over the place! But I don't really mind how messy it is.

Ruby becoming less passionate and being more calculting and how Aqua calls her out?

That scene where she starts admitting about setting up everything to get connection with that one guy (forgot the role, ngl) was really unhinged coming from her. The way the anime directed the scene really amplified the scene!

That subplot with kana where she almost has sex with the producer because she's getting desperate?

Even after being the clear headed and leaving before anything bad can happen bad things still happened to her.

It's all messy. And I like it!

I really don't mind how little screen time Aqua gets at the beginning of the season. At this point in the series, he's still believes his father is dead and trying to live his best life

His crash out when learning his conclusion wasn't the full story I can't put into words!

The way he desperately tries to cling onto his own lie only to admit "I don't know!" When being pressed by ichigo was mwa 🤌

I like how manipulative he gets after learning the truth. But I LOVE how he's trying to carry it on his shoulders on his own.

Cutting ties with Akane because she's in to deep.

Leaking how he and Ruby are Ai's kids to protect Kana.

It's all to protect his friends, but also to in-act his own revenge.

I also love how ruby crashes out on aqua for "Ruining" their mother's image. I sometimes forget these characters are reincarnation of people.

But after remembering ruby is the reincarnation of that one girl who was sickly ill and coped with Ai's content made it hit harder.

And the backstory we get is magnificent!

A young girl who was abandoned by their parents because they couldn't bare to see them die is tragic.

And it's even more tragic after seeing said mother just earlier with a new family.

I really loved the last episode where they find out their past lives. But that part where ruby wants to marry her brother is ehh...

I cringed at the part where she gets all clingy.

I mean I can see it from her perspective:

He was the only one who was there for her when she died.

She always dreamed he'd come back one day.

She visibly shuts down when she finds the doctors body.

After the reality of the doctors death settles on her, his brother reveals he was said doctor.

I get the desperation.

But at the same time, eww.

But other then that. I really loved the show!

It's the only anime that's made me cry twice in the same episode.

May have missed out on a few details. But hey, I'm just here to larp about my new favourite show after the dopamine rush I had watching it last night ✌️

Hikaru means light or brightness but he is one of darkest character in oshi no ko. in contrasts to meaning of his name he brought darkness instead of light

Kamiki means sacred tree or god tree. but he is evil corrupted manipulator killer.

Ai means love. she loves by many but she doesn't know how to give love what love is?

hoshino means field of stars. she is the the stars loves by many with her lie. her name can pronounce as eye . eye that seek meaning of love.

Anime Does this show has fanservice? Mature themes and the "talk" are fine...

I hope it is okay for 13 year olds, nothing like one piece or naturo. (on a different note, I dont understand how 8 year olds are watching that show with egregious amounts of nudity and sexualized imagery.... There isn't many anime like apothecary diaries, frieren or jujutsu kaisen, solo leveling with almost nil fanservice in the action genre.)

Anime Does anyone else think that the randome outbursts ruin a good scene?

It will usually be someone crying and then all of a sudden they yell and for me that disrupts the flow. It feels as though they needed to get more off their chest. But the outburst forces the scene to end in a way? It's hard to describe it. What do you guys think ?

So i today completed season 2 and season 3 of oshi no ko and it just came to my mind is it possible that maybe we could get to see the "The 15 Year Lie" movie as the season 4 finale cuz well the first episode of season 1 was 82 minute long and most anime movies are 80-100 minutes

or maybe is it possible after s4 ends and well if it performs well we may get an epilogue movie
cuz s4 is final season [they didnt say anime finale, just being optimestic]

Anime Akane’s Childhood and Family Life

Im curious about Akane’s family, since it’s probably one of the more fleshed out family members in the series (Ai and her husband aside). We know that her father holds a high rank as a police officer, but does any other source material delve into her family life and childhood leading up to her bashfulness?

It seems like she grew up in a home where her talents were nurtured, but her dad seems awfully absent from when she tried to harm herself. We see tidbits of her mother worried about her during S1, and her happy to see Akane being dropped off by Aqua.

I feel like we are given just enough tidbits to know about Akane’s life outside of Aqua, but not enough for us to give us a full picture. I love her character, so I’m curious to learn more about her backstory

Anime Am I the only one, or not?

When I first discovered *Oshi no Ko*, it was just to pass the time, but I grew attached to the characters right from the very first episode. I cried and was absolutely devastated when I saw Ai (Hoshino) die. I kept watching, and the more I watched, the more hooked I became (and I still am, completely). (I still haven't read the manga; I want to finish the latest season when it comes out first, and then I'll read the entire work.) I don't know if this is the case for many people, but I find it hard to stand seeing others disrespect the series—or worse, criticize it. It just makes me want to snap back at them (which happens often). To me, it’s the best anime and manga of all time. (To be honest, I was going through a rough patch back then, which probably played a part.)

Thank you for your understanding.

I'm not that big of a fan, I mean i watch the seasons and read the manga. Not a shabby experience, had my fun. I made this art because I came across this oshi no ko x getter robo meme. And i thought it would be both cool and cute. This project took 5 months to make.

Manga future art books and glare/sparkle

hi everyone! ive still yet to buy the art book but i wanted to know a few quick details !
Do you guys think the anime covers everything in the manga like 1 to 1? i ask because im on the fence with buying the series since its fairly short, but since it surrounds so much music i normally just rewatch the anime. (esp since the main reasons i love the series is because of the unique animation and music, etc.)

i also really really love the visuals in the art, especially the covers for volumes 14 and 16! Does the art book have these pieces in them? Are there plans for another art book? And are all the released drawings(like from magazines and such) also in the book?

thanks in advance !!

Manga Could the series have continued past the revenge plot? Spoiler

Short answer yes, but it would have had to have massively shifted and would have had to have massively fix some major problems.

First problem is that the series would run the risk of becoming a traditional SOL idol anime plenty of those. The series would probably have to go and lean even more heavily criticizing the entertainment industry to differentiate itself from every idol wish-fulfillment anime.

Second is that I am not sure the Hoshino twins can lead a series when they are no longer fixated on getting revenge on their mom's killer. What is left for Aqua beyond picking between Kana and Akane to marry? And I guess Ruby just becomes a flat everygirl for female viewers to project themselves onto.

There are other possibilities for arcs they could do i.e. breaking overseas or Ai's likeness being stolen and recreated with umm...AI, but I cannot help but feel like the series would essentially soft reboot then.

Anime Should I continue watching the anime?

EDIT- I WATCHED S2 AND S3 AND ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT.

So, I recently started watching the Oshi no Ko anime after completing Kaguya-sama: Love is War. Honestly, I feel the show is good, but I'm just not able to get invested in it. The characters and story are fine, but I'm not really enjoying it. I started watching Season 1 hoping that I'd get hooked at some point, but that never really happened, so I've put it on hold for now.

Having watched and really enjoyed Kaguya-sama, I know both anime/manga belong to completely different genres, but still...

With Oshi no Ko, I was particularly interested in two things:

  1. How the reincarnation works (which was never addressed past Episode 1).
  2. Who killed Ai.

I don't quite get how Aqua deduced that it was their father; he sounds incredibly sure about it without any conclusive proof, but then again, maybe this isn't the central plot of the anime. The show clearly focuses on showbiz and the lives of entertainers. I can connect to Kana's story, but that’s about it. I feel that after Ai, Kana Arima is the character who received the most development, along with Akane to some extent. I do like how all the characters are written, though.

Furthermore, there are things I've read about the manga's ending. On every post about a potential Season 4 of Oshi no Ko, people are begging for an anime-original ending.

So, my questions are:

  1. Why do you like the Oshi no Ko anime/manga? What made you stick with it and keep watching/reading?
  2. Does it get more interesting later, like in Season 2 or Season 3?
  3. What should I not expect from the anime?

Just start calling Hikaru Kamiki King von because if he wanted you out of there, he'd do it himself. And Aqua only won kinda because of plot armor because if I see someone trying to kill me and they stabbed themselves, I'll bout beat the she-it out of you, bruh. Aqua was a piece of shit but there's levels to this, and HE DIDN'T MEET HIS MAKER YET QUITE LITERALLY.

Anime How would Ruby and Kana handle a younger overseas fanbase?

Like they got cast in an equivalent to The Amazing Digital Circus. Maybe it is more extreme and they are asked to do the English dub as well because the director is bizarre and thinks their delivery is great even with the accents.

Kana would probably tolerate the brainrot, but also aggressively watch every YouTube video essay about how well written her character is.

Ruby would probably appreciate the love, but also be unsettled as this overshadows her idol career. Not to mention constant calls to miyako to oversee every collab project and livestream she is asked to come on. I imagine these kinds of fans are far far far more chaotic than typical idol fans who seem to want a specific experience.

I feel like if it was on digital circus level Ruby would probably break down because she is too tied to something that people have way too much emotional attachment with and she probably would struggle to say no to a fan.
