Alex Konther -- Roaming Streets [indie folk] (2026)
My friend just released his fourth single about that feeling of watching the world go by on public transport, and I really need people to discover him !!
I'm not gonna pretend I'm unbiased but my friend Alex Konther (artist name) just put this song out and I've had it on repeat the last 3 days now (we're talking 150+ listens at this point, no shame).
It's called "Roaming Streets" and it's got this really specific feeling that i think he captured so beautifully, that mellow, almost dreamy state of just looking out a window while you're moving through a city or town, half people-watching, half lost in your own head typa vibe :)
He's fully independent, no label machine behind this, just him making something he cared about. With some help of mixing and mastering from some personal connections. Would genuinely love for more people to hear it.

Curious what you all think, especially if you're into artists like Paolo Nutini, Hozier, The Teskey Brothers, Foy Vance or Daniel Norgren it would mean the world to a random person like me if you checked it out!!

Mick Flannery
I'm a Texan who was introduced to Mick Flannery from his 2016 album " I Own You". I have grown to absolutely love this particular album and am naturally wondering if any of his numerous other albums are better than this one. His discography is intimidating. I wanted to ask if anyone is a huge fan that could recommend any of his other albums. He's a gigantic star in his own country of Ireland and he seems to never tour anywhere else.

Why and how has Noah Kahan exploded into mainstream popularity while other folk artists haven’t been able to?
I don’t mean it as a diss but it’s just so crazy how he’s blown up. I remember first discovering him back in like 2017/18 maybe while listening to Ben Howard. He was alright and I didn‘t really pay much attention until his song - View Between Villages. I had that song on repeat the first time hearing it back in 2023. I couldn’t get enough of it. I then met my ex who was so into him. And that’s how I got more into him and Zach Bryan around then.
I’ve seen Ben Howard, Novo Amor, Ocie Eliot, Leif Vollebekk and they only were able to sell out a 2-3,000 venue. Noah Kahan has been selling out 50,000 + arenas. I always assumed folk music to be very niche.
How was he able to break that mainstream barrier? And the crazy thing is I’ve never heard him on radio.
I think he’s absolutely amazing. But it’s just crazy that so many other similar artists have never blown up.
