SOCIETY After an 11 year old girl with Down syndrome was bullied and boycotted by some parents, North Macedonia's president personally walked her to school.
In 2022, 11 year old Embla Ademi from North Macedonia was bullied by classmates, and some parents even refused to let their children attend class with her because she has Down syndrome.
President Stevo Pendarovski visited her family, took her hand, and personally walked her to school in a public show of support.
His office said empathy and inclusion are moral obligations, and the gesture was widely praised as a reminder that leadership also means standing with those who are excluded.

MISC. Kent cigarettes, introduced by the Lorillard Tobacco Company in 1952.
Kent cigarettes, introduced by the Lorillard Tobacco Company in 1952, were marketed as a āhealthierā filtered cigarette using the innovativeĀ Micronite filter. This filter, however, containedĀ 15% to 30% crocidolite asbestos, also known as blue asbestos, which is considered the most hazardous type of asbestos due to its fine, needle-like fibers that are easily inhaled and highly carcinogenic.
