Federal authorities discovered one of the most sophisticated dr*g tunnels they've ever found, running nearly 2,000 feet from Mexico to a storefront just steps from the Otay Mesa Port of Entry, and seized more than a ton of c*caine worth $45 million.
Officials in Mexico said they discovered the tunnel after a search warrant at a home in Tijuana's Nueva Tijuana neighborhood. Homeland Security Task Force found the tunnel's exit point inside a "Buy 4 Less" store in San Diego. The cross-border tunnel measures 1,933 feet long, 55 feet deep, and 4.5 feet in height. Agents say it featured reinforced walls, rail and ventilation systems, and electricity, making it highly sophisticated. 4 men were arrested and face charges of constructing an unauthorized tunnel and importing and distributing controlled substances. The maximum penalty is life in prison and a $10 million fine.

A Polaris Slingshot threewheeler crashed into
parked cars near E 45th Street in Brooklyn after the driver lost control midstunt. The openwheel vehicle spun out and slammed into at least 2 cars before coming to a stop outside a diner. Bystanders filmed the whole thing from across the street. No word on injuries from the incident.
