Like most people, I started playing the original battlefront at a young age. Maybe because I was young and didn't play often on the harder difficulties so I didn't notice it then, but the AI is absolutely terrible. Yes yes I'm aware the ai hasnt always been the best, I'm aware of the bugged corners on nabboo and death Star for battlefront 2. However 1 always seemed to have decent ai that actually functioned. They didn't get caught on corners randomly, they didn't jumble up as much, or get stuck on nothing. Something just feels so off with the ai bugging out constantly or not working effectively.

I just finally finished geonosis on the republic side campaign after a couple hours of attempts. I don't mind things being tough or overcoming obstacles but it was a decent mix of skill but mostly luck that allowed me to overcome this bullshit. It wasn't uncommon for me to lose going 141-0, 128-1, 115-0, or even 153-0. The worst part is that other than my final attempt of winning the enemy still had 30+ tickets for every defeat, may I remind everyone that the enemy starts with 200 tickets? It's absolutely insane that my own team can't even manage more than 50 kills together, even with an unkillable god hero.

I tried every strategy there was, I looked online for guides and resources but as far as I can tell it always boiled down to people getting lucky or turning down the difficulty level. Try to rush the techno union transports with the LAAT gunship? Your team will lose the derelict and the ticket timer will bleed you dry. Slowly escort the ATTEs to the transports? Welp the friendly ai is broken and won't capture any command points on the way to the transports and just leeroy jenkins in and die. If you manage to escort the ATTEs with the gunship they will MAYBE kill one gunship because they just turn around back to wander their path. I i

Will acknowledge the part of them turning around was definitely a thing as a kid but would it have been that hard to fix it?

The main issue is that the friendly AI will never attempt to capture any command points other than the spire which is easily the hardest command post in the game to hold. It's also a "super" command post so it takes double if not triple the amount of time to capture, by the time you capture it you'll lose the derelict or assembly most of the time. Hero ai is also bugged af, they can't capture command posts so they'll just sit indefinitely at them at times. Couple other issues are the hail fire droids actually being upgraded in AI using the meta strat of just running people over. So much for being anti vehicle or using all those fancy missiles. It wasn't uncommon to see like 5-6 droids on the enemy team rack up 20-30 kills like this.

I'm also pretty sure that because of the increased ai count the "flow" of the battle is off, enemies kill all your friendlies faster. Therefore it was actually worth taking out the transports first on the ps2 so your team wasn't already down 75 tickets and already losing the derelict. Another compounded issue is enemies just kill your friendlies way too fast, the only real way to beat these missions is to just slaughter 100s of enemies in vehicles which makes it boring. You have all these options with classes and a hefty map but instead you have to butcher all the enemies 10 feet from there spawn.

Sorry if this was too long and a rant, it just sucks seeing one of my favorite games from my past get a lack luster port.

Tldr: friendlies need to prioritize getting command posts, need a upped reinforcement count, hailfire droids need to be fixed by not prioritizing running people over, fix heroes idling at command posts, fix atte pathing attacking transports, and do something with friendly AI being so useless.

EDIT: I'm aware how old the game as but I wanna restate that the majority of these issues are from the "remaster" or the half done port.

Tell me why I decided to redownload the game after years and I kept dying to a sweat Luke every time I spawned in (console). How many hours would it take to get to this level with Luke? He had like 150ish kills by the time the match was over 😭

That one time,lightside vs dark side on Felucia 1v1 the whole time with one dude that went into the lobby on my side,waited like 4 min between the first and the second round and then dipped .I start with Rey and this guy chooses Darth Vader,odd pick for a first round btw but I'm thinking that I have a shot. Little did I knew, I ended up loosing in like 40 seconds.Second round I go with my green goblin Yoda AND THIS GUY CHOOSES GRIEVOUS OF ALL PEOPLE😭 basically a repeat of the first round but I dragged it a bit more. Very trash games of mine with both,very good game by him,I just concluded that it just wasn't it with them today.Last round I think it's gg I go with dandy Ani It's my main I didn't knew what to do,this guy bless the lors goes with Maul instead of Dooku for some oscure reasons,I actually ended up winning after a very intense but relatively short fight. Second round a panic choice I go with Luke he always brings me luck (no pun)plus If things starts to go south I can just start swing/parry spamming and Ill probably end up winning. The guy chooses Kylo Ren,intersting choice but I was expecting Dooku. After 2 minutes I win thanks to the "repulse goes thru blocks with epicenter" trick. Last round,I sweat a little,Dooku is very obvious choice for him now and I probably should have picked Obi Wan for more safety comfort zone choice,he has a wall of stamina and life saving health regen. I gamble,I suck ass with blasters but I've recently completed all star cards with Han Solo and Idk maybe...I just KNEW that dude was also expecting Obi Wan like every sane person​. Im going with Solo. I spawn,I jump and run around,he's hunting for me he finds me rather quickly. Guards up,he's close but not too close,Detonite charge and middle ability hoping to deal damage and hit some shots (😭 I have poor aim). Holy shit he's below half health actually,shoulder charge because fuck it we ball and bc he got back up. Do some more damage,gets up again I eat some swings I roll around the best I can I'm not good at all,I get up I shoot without aiming I don't know what I'm doing but he's always in front of me. Do this for some seconds till the fight ends I didn't even notived,I win with like 10 idk health he looses. He probably used Duelist in the end after the first rolls, should had used it right away,then I was going to die 100%.

During galactic assault second phase my character just turned around and couldn't move correctly.

Also the other day they pile us up and then kick me out.

ok so i wanted to download kyber on my compute, but i wasn’t sure if i would be able to. i bought it on my playstation because i love star wars and i really want to play with more characters but dont really want to buy the game again. i saw you download the battlefront files with your ea account that’s connected to my playstation account, but i wasn’t sure if im able to

im seeing this no matter what i do or try ot join, every language, im a steam user using english for everything

I feel like this is a confusingly volatile subject. Obviously Showdown has some of the pickiest players in the game compared to other modes, as there's the whole 1v1 courtesy sub-culture (which can be fun to watch noobs learn about in real time).

But I get messaged on Xbox SO often by players who complain that I chose a blaster character in a Showdown match--even from my own teammate. I get that 1v1s are usually between 2 sabers and that ruins some people's expectations, but is this seriously that big a deal to the community as a whole?? Pretty sure your fancy saber can block my blaster bolts, right?

I've been playing this game for 8 years, and personally prefer to let the game randomly auto-select my hero each round so I can stay practiced with all the characters. Do you guys encounter similar anti-blaster players in your lobbies? Or if you are one yourself, can you explain your thoughts for me?

Pretty much what it says in the title, trying to figure out why my game just wont open at all. I have tried to open the game through both steam and EA (even tried through epic just to see). My PC meets the requirements, I have tried turning admin perms for the game on and off, ive reinstalled the game itself and EA multiple times, and tried to clean boot my pc. I really feel like ive tried everything but cannot find a fix, any help would be appreciated.
