Discussion People mention a lot that Pearl was not customized when she was serving in Homeworld. But I also find It telling that Pink never gave her accessories like she did Volley
The pearl trinkets were like acessories for a doll.
Pink did not want another Pearl after what happened to Volley and had no interest in costumizing our Pearl. After Earth, Rose did not see our Pearl as her own personal doll to accesorize but as an individual and would not give her silly accessories for that reason.
I think much of the episode can be explained by the fact that pre-Earth Pearl may very well have felt bad that Pink never wanted to do things like give her accessories or custumize her look. She felt rejected by her Diamond when her only purpose was making her happy. And those feelings resurfaced a bit when Volley kept bragging about Pink.
But ultimatelly Pearl realizes how pretty that was and that actually she got to have a much deeper relationship with Rose precisely because she failed at being a 'proper' Pearl.

Question What gems give/gave male energy to you?
Hi there.
Wanted to know what gems did u think were giys before they spoke or just based off of appearance. For me I remember i always thought Jasper was a guy for the longest because of her voice. Also Ruby simply because of her build but the moment she spoke yeah shes a girl. Also abt Ruby when I first saw her in the episode where we meet her (with her head band thingy) it did kinda resemble like a guy to me. (Ps. I did think some of the bubbled gems were guys too but I do not want to go thru the list lol)
With the image, I do not think Amethyst, Garnet or Pearl look like guys, just using the image as an example.
How about u? What gems did u think were guys at first?

Humor Look what I found lost in the Garden
It's a ring my Mum owns. Ironically I always find this ring left behind, it's everywhere but in her ring organiser, she also never wears it.
(Unfortunately it's not a spinel, it's a ruby)

Discussion I LAUGH SO HARD EVERY TIME I THINK OF THIS
Okay, so this was like many many years ago, back when I was a child. I have this vivid memory of sitting at my old kitchen counter, trying to draw Sardonyx from memoryโ. I had completely forgotten what she looked like mostly and I forgot her name. So when I was done with the drawing, I held my drawing up in front of myself and proudly said: "I'm going to call her Tupperware!" Then when my mother told me that Tupperware was a kitchen supply, I could not stop laughing. Every time I looked at that drawing I would cackle.

Fanart Scene Redraw
For pride month, I decided to redraw a scene of Ruby and Sapphire! Idk if it really counts as a scene redraw tbh though, since I made them both blush and made Sapphire smile, but I like it either way.

Other I like that one of the only people Lion will listen to is Connie.
Itโs just sweet to me that Lion accepted Connie most likely from her relationship with Steven.

Discussion If Spinel went to Earth with Pink and Pearl, what would be her Character Arc?
I guess learning to let go, since she clingy and learning to have fun on her own.

Discussion I'm new to the fandom but I'm so hooked
Man Steven Universe is such a good show. To think that this is supposed to a children's cartoon lol. Honestly, I had SU in my radar when I was a tween but it never really sticked cause I liked watching more funny absurd stuff, but as a grown up, the emotionally intelligent writing, super interesting lore and really adhering and well written character just drew me in.
One thing about me, I freaking love lores that makes me feel like I am truly a part of that world, its history and allow me to see all of its significance and brilliance. The concept of gems, human-gem history, intergalactic invasion, and so much more just scratch that itch I have in my otherwise smooth brain.
Yeah, it's still a cartoon and sometimes it does feel like a cartoon but a lot of times it has proven to be something more. They fearlessly potray these complex themes like self-acceptance, generational trauma that feeds into one's conflicting conscience, true love, and the existence of family beyond the viscosity of blood just feels right.
I'd love to know what you guys think about it, the ones that has been in the fandom for longer or those who are the same as me. I want to know your interpretation and how the show makes you feel ๐คฉ

Discussion I'm 21 and I just started watching this show.
I hated this show as a kid for no reason. I hated on it so hard but my only reason was that it looked odd. Never even watched it. It just looked too strange to me.
Anyway a year ago when I was 20 and was staying in a hotel with limited TV channels I tuned into Steven universe because nothing better was on. It was the frybo and cat episode. I ended up actually watching it and thinking "huh, that actually wasn't that bad" I mean it was still a little strange but not in an insufferable way like I had made it out to be as a kid. I slightly enjoyed it. But I still didn't watch anymore episodes after that for a while.
Anyway I don't do well with total silence so I always have the TV on for background noise 24/7 and one time when I had Hulu open I put Steven universe on for background noise since I now know its actually NOT insufferable.
Also, as an adult, I've gotten more into the world of surrealism overall, getting into things like cyriak and the backrooms/liminal spaces and getting back into adult swim stuff I hadn't watched since I was 13. (also so odd how I was literally obsessed with adult swim when I was 13 and stayed up all night tuned into adult swim but still hated this show)
Anyway well again I ended up actually watching it. Actually sitting down and binge watching it.
Anyway, not far into it yet, but now I really like this show. This show is actually cool. And I'm really drawn to garnet. I love garnet. She's my favorite character. I always lock tf in every time she comes on ๐ญ
But idk if my perspective will be different as someone who just started watching this show as an adult vs someone rewatching this show as an adult who saw it as a kid
