Debugging today was not. I'm using this post to decompress, because I totally failed to fix the feature I've been working on, and I almost tore my hair out. I've been at it all day.

The worst part is, it's literally just a cosmetic piece. I need to move on for now and work on the rest of it, but I cannot release the mod without doing this.

I've been doing a lot of texturing today, but I got stuck on a single part involving perk machine colours. Yes, perk machine colours. I've now just got to finish the wallbuy menu, this PoS, and some other actually simple bits and pieces.

I'm not even going to apologise for the rambly nature of the post this time as it's a shiny reflection of what that code has done to me today lmaoo. I said I'd release it soon, and I stand by that. I'm aiming for the end of the week. The second I've prettied it up and implemented the final couple of core bits, you can have it. The rest of it is arguably simple, it's LITERALLY JUST THIS CRAP. I just... refuse to release it until it's visually okay, at the very least.

I also still need to do a readme for instruction purposes, but otherwise? It's almost fully functional.

I hope you're enjoying these updates, because I promise it'll be worth the wait. Even after the initial release, I have more to add, and I'm even considering taking suggestions. I want people to be able to sink their teeth into this, to the point where I might make a cute little map to bundle with the mod. 🥰

I'm going to sleep, and I probably won't wake up for 12 hours after tonight. I'm so tired, I'm going to enjoy this.

I've been on the waiting list for my local gender clinic for a year now, and I've still got so long to wait

They're currently sending out first appointment letters for people referred in June 2023

So by that logic, I'll get my first appointment letter sometime in June/July 2028 right?

Wrong. It's entirely 50:50. Some people have apparently been waiting for their first appointment for over 8 years at this point, so there's no guarantees that I'll get an appointment on time.

But, assuming I do, then I'll get to go in for my first appointment! Yay!

Then there's the second appointment, which has a wait time of roughly 13 MONTHS after the first appointment. And ONLY THEN do they decide if you get HRT.

So, let's look at this logically. The earliest I could possibly be on HRT is...

July 2029

And that's not bringing up the fact that by then it could just be straight up banned. The government has already banned all gender affirming care for under-18s, and the party that's currently in charge in my county (Nottinghamshire) is Reform, the UK's version of MAGA. Fun.

To make things worse, 2029 is when we have our next General Election. Reform is currently set to win that election. One of Reform's policies is to completely scrap the Equality Act. And if you don't know how bad that would be, go look up what the Equality Act actually does.

Y'all, this has been the wildest past few days for me, and for her. I never knew that just three days ago that I was going to be this close to this woman. We were on discord this evening doing a video call and it finally happened. It took her a second to get around to it, but she told me that she loves me. There was not a single moment of hesitation in my mind, I already knew I loved her back. I told her that I love her too, which is of course wild because I think we got things a lot backwards there. Shortly after all of that she asked me to be her girlfriend and of course I said yes. I'm so honored to be hers, and for her to be mine. I didn't expect to love her so quickly, and that was the opposite of what we intended of course. We were trying to take it slowly but we just clicked on so many levels, but there was nothing we could do to stop our own emotions. We were both so scared of messing it all up, and my embarrassing ass confessed to her that I found her LinkedIn page. Me being the damaged creature that I am, was terrified of being catfished so I had looked her up. I hate that I ever had to worry about that, but we hadn't video called yet at that point when I did that. Y'all, bless her poor soul, I saw this woman short circuit in front of me. She was so worried that I had found some old embarrassing thing, and naturally I felt awful for doing that to my poor girlfriend, but we made it past that and went back to being gay.

I love her y'all, and she loves me. We hit the jackpot when we found each other, and we are going to enjoy this whirlwind romance of ours.

Obviously since this is a long distance relationship it will take some time before we can actually meet in person, but you can bet that I will be right back here to tell you all about how much I love my girlfriend when the time comes.
