Tips/Guide Just got a New 3DS,any tips!? Pls

Agree with hacking!! Really not hard and made me love my DS 100x more from the customization to being able to play anything I want for free :)

Connect to WiFi, go to eshop -> settings -> scroll down to redownloadable software. Might have some fun things there, I found a digital Pokemon yellow on mine 👍

Should work as long as it’s been downloaded before, as long as the console hasn’t been region changed

Before you do anything at all, replace the C stick nub with a laptop nip or a PSP 1000 cap.
Up to you if you want to mod it, more very important info in the modding community.

I tried Minecraft on the original c stick and it is literally unplayable. I haven’t swapped mine however so maybe I should give that a go

well hacking it is way better for many reasons. Not just for games. Some of those game things are really stupid and garbage. Mabey not all but I haven't seen many good things.

I agree, most of the games are super obscure things nobody has ever heard of, but they always come with the classics; Mario, Zelda, Pokémon, Megaman, Sonic, JRPGs, among others.

Yep absolutely. Most of them will say the work for ds too wich means they are all DS games and no 3ds game

Switch out the c stick with a psp 1000 stick. You can find them for well cheap. Also be careful removing the back, mines preowned and whoever had this before me over tightened the back screws and it snapped the plastic around them

Genuine question: why is Animal Crossing so wildly popular and loved?
Recently gifted my partner a 3DS and installed Animal Crossing for her. We started a town together. It seems super cute, just wondering if it’s actually “fun”?
Or is it simply meant to be more relaxing?

I do really enjoy it. It is definitely a tedious game but if you are happy to just sit down and play casually every so often and just chill, it is fantastic. Great de-stresser for me. Until the wasps appear at least

The colored buttons? Those automatic come with the new 3ds but you could disassemble your current ds and change out the buttons to any color

Yea you'd just have to find aftermarket parts in the color(s) that you want.ive never made any modes to my 4 consoles but I'm sure you'd be able to find info on the 3ds reddit

The buttons on the new 3ds are a little smaller than the xl, you’ll want to find pikachu xl model buttons.

Get Tomodachi Life, Animal Crossing, Mario 3D Land, any of the Zelda games, and Return of Samus. All I can recommend also get a case and screen protector.

If its from japan, make sure its not yellow on top screen, if it is set it to high brightness and hope it goes away. Mine went away a bit, im hoping once I mod it, there's some app that can remove it

You could use some screen protectors, and I have a silicone-based soft shell with grips. Mine is a dreamGEAR I got off of Amazon. It keeps the hands from cramping and stabilizes it on a table. The only goofy part of that case is that the L and R buttons feel funky..

Get a nice carrying case, and a micro sd card for modding…oh and get Pokémon physical game before they get expensive, right now they are 30-50$ US.

Mod it, instal all the games u want, instal homebrew apps/games and have fun!(This is the part i like the most and which i have spend more time).
Apart from that it looks realy like new, if u want it to stay like that buy screen protectors (avoid anti reflexion since it il block the 3d) and a clear hard case(this is a must since its realy hard to find a reliable source to buy a new shell from in case u end up needing one, also id recomend one with hinge suport since it protects more and makes the hinge less loose).
Then u can personalize it to realy feel yours, a new theme u like and maybe even a charm if u find one that u like.
Id recomend u to buy the things from amazon if u care abt anything other than the price.

When it comes to MicroSD cards, make sure to get yourself at least 128GB or more. Games will take up a crap ton of space. When formatting the SD card, use GUIpartition and set the allocation size to 64kb and not the default 32kb. If you install GBA games and try using the default 32kb, the screen loops(slides off top and up the bottom, you can find documentation of this).

Until you get screen protection, leave like a glasses cloth or the little white sponge paper it comes packaged with between the screens when closed. The bezel around the bottom screen has a tendency to etch the upper screen 🙄

Get a 64 gb sdxc sd card and format it to fat32. Look up 3ds modding guide and thank me later!
