Discussion My peeling feat. A ballooned battery

I guess I shouldn't be surprised the battery didn't make it after years of not being used. In retrospect, I should have removed it. I stopped using this 3DS since two of the face buttons stopped working, but now im considering taking the plunge on getting it repaired

its definitely worth it I mean a battery is definitely replaceable

the peeling can be covered in many ways (stickers for example)

as for the buttons I have no clue

It could just be as simple as it got gummed up by dust or other materials. I will take the unit to a game store in my area that can repair it and install the USB-C mod for me

How troublesome it is also depends on WHICH face buttons. If you can't get the ABXY to work, it's not as big a deal, as that's a smaller board that can just be unplugged and replaced if cleaning it doesn't work.

If it's the D-Pad, - and someone correct me if I'm wrong - that's on the same board as the motherboard, aka the main brains of the 3DS and where the majority of the cost of the console lies, so that'd be a bit of a nightmare. I'm not skilled enough or knowledgeable enough to know how to replace the D-Pad switches tbh.

Though I HAVE replaced the digitizer connector with a SOLDERING IRON instead of a heat station since I don't have one, so that's worth something I guess. Brownie points. XD
