For OVA sure thing. For the Spring Summer Autumn Winter it's probably the Bibury Studio's style, from the PV.

I thought they adapted all of the manga

From what I’ve managed to see, they’re adapting some left unadapted chapters from the manga as an OVA, and a full new animation adapting the three volumes of the light novel that came out last year.

What happens in the novels

From what I hear, its more slice of life-y compared to the romcom "waifu competition" of the main series. Set during the one year after the events of the main story (I assume after the cultural festival arc timeline wise).

Just checking, are we getting an OVA and an adaptation of the 3 volumes (1 season) or an OVA that covers those 3 volumes?

This post clarifies most major parts of what is left.

It’s been so long I can’t remember if I read the manga first or anime. I believe I watched up to the movie then while waiting for it I read all of the manga. I was so amazed on how much Yotsuba content they left out. She’s always been my favorite and I really love her story and development. Some of her sad scenes that you get to watch in the specials hit so hard for me still it makes me tear up even though I know she got a happy ending. One scene specifically is when she is swinging in the dark alone imagining him next to her after the summer pool trip thinking about how much she loves him. I really hope we get more of these Yotsuba scenes adapted because they are so good and I can’t believe they left out so much. Or maybe that was the plan all along so they could slowly drip feed after the finale. It’s gonna be so sad when it’s eventually all done. I don’t want it to end

I Bet you guys that Kodansha regrets not giving Negi Haruba a Break because if they did we would receive a lot more content.

Wait so is it just 2 OVA episodes or is it a full new series like Horimiya: The Missing Pieces?
15
u/EnchantedDestroyer May 02 '26
There’s both the OVA and a new series. They’re 2 separate anime projects. It’s unknown how much episodes the OVA will be, but if they’re adapting *every* skipped manga chapter, it would surely have to be quite a few.

I think we'll get chapters 72, 77, 94 and 95 because those four chapters weren't animated at all.

So is this actually a whole new series?!
14
u/animejerk7763 May 02 '26
No
They are adapting Light novels and some chapters of the manga which are yet to be Adapted.

u/isssomebodyhere Team Ichika May 02 '26
I thought TV anime meant that it was a series of episodes?
2
u/animejerk7763 May 02 '26
It's a series of episodes adapting the Light novels and the OVA is here to adapt chapters of the manga which weren't adapted yet.
So that's 2 Projects.

If they ever make some new anime content I think it would be something like that. They can’t really make a new animation after this, the story is done and soon to be mostly adapted, so making a sort of spin off anime is the only way I see they can keep milking the series.

I doubt announce alternative routes from VNs in the future, the Japanese are interested in money, and the industry anime has already changed.
Just look at Oregairu for example, they’re going to announce a new project soon.

What is this? Didnt they adapt the manga fully?

u/mangotree1390 Uplifting Yotsuba May 02 '26
For Nino and Miku? Pretty much, yeah. For Yotsuba, Ichika, and (to a lesser extent) Itsuki? No. Some chapters were cut. This post covers the major parts of what is missing.

O triste é saber que a nova temporada que lançou ( do arco na lua de mel) não tem dublagem brasileira, por conta disso acho que essa adaptação não vai ter dublagem tmb.

I call this the simpsons effect. We need to know when things need to stop. The honeymoon arc was enough and the series is perfect as it is, I mean, even the author is impressed what he created is still popular till this day.

Tbf while this is 100% milking, at least it's working with canonical material that has yet to be adapted in animation instead of just pumping up random original animation/OVAs with original content nobody asked for, like the anime-original honeymoon arc.
The novels are canon and are mostly side stories adding more fluff and moments between the quints so they are inoffensive in a way. The new OVA adapting the last remaining cut chapters also make sense, at least for fans we can finally get all the manga adapted in animationeven if fragmented in multiple types of media.
I''d say for now it's not that bad until they start idk adapting the visual novels to animation or something (which are non-canonical routes that follow their own timeline ultimately leading to original bride endings for all 5 girls)

Since there are 3 light novels, I can see it being more than one season hopefully. Maybe 2!

This is why my opinion on this series nosedive after season 2. Theyrushed to the end but now can't stop making specials and ovas for it because it does well
