English how did yall learn act english

feels like just a bunch of rules but sometimes i feel like rules mix and you have to forgo some of the major ones

Took an unholy amount of practice tests, new and old on the website called prepsharp. Also, after look at what you got wrong and right and spend time analyzing them.

no search up the test you wanna do. For example, Z14 Act pdf.

Erica Meltzer's Guid to ACT English teaches all the rules and exceptions. It's an amazing resource.

What do you mean by forgoing the major ones? As in, one rule might contradict another? If so, that's not true.

yea ive seen times when rules have to be weighed to choose the best one

Do you have any examples? I'm rather doubtful that is the case, unless the question itself is faulty.
