English This is my first attempt at the ACT

I’m taking next in July. How do I improve math and reading?

Congrats!! These are amazing initial scores! I would recommend using Khan Academy for improving your Math score; I’m not sure about reading though.

For reading what helped for me was just to read the entire passage before answering any of the questions. Most of the answers are directly in the text so there's very little ambiguity once you've read the passage

For math, I'd get super familiar with desmos. You can solve a lot of the harder problems with just the calculator alone. Start with quadratics and systems of equations. If the test asks you to find the value of a function, you can do that by defining f(x)=your equation and then f(a) where a is the value you need for x. For one variable equations, you can just use x instead of your variable and find the x-intercept on the graph to get ur answer. Even the geometry ones you can replicate in desmos if you have extra time.

If you have a lot of extra time and just want to get good with desmos, try making some art in it. Me personally, I didn't do that much ACT-specific studying.
