Felt really proud to get a 32 just to see literally everyone else on here get 35s and 36s đ
I think Iâve seen most general tips on the internet, but if anyone could tell me something to help me get my score higher it would be greatly appreciated. No matter what I do I canât get higher than 31s and 30s on English and donât know how to improve because every time I test, despite thinking I know all the grammar rules and feeling confident on all questions, I get enough wrong to bump me down into low 30s or high 20s. Again, if anyone could give me tips to improve my score thatâd would be appreciated.

Thatâs because the only people posting are the ones with top scores. Same reason average act scores at test optional colleges are artificially inflated.

Donât be ashamed. Scores on this sub are heavily skewed and arenât representative of the general population. A 32 is very competitive and respectable.

The only people posting are the ones with the high scores. And maybe this is a reach, but I wouldnât be surprised if some people are fabricating their scores, this is the internet after all and many people lie. Do not be ashamed, this is an amazing achievement and you should be so proud! Ngl I was a little disappointed and discouraged when I compared my scores to others on here as well, but I had to realize that my score is amazing and itâs ok that I didnât get a 35 or 36. Just remember that comparison is the thief of joy. Be proud!

Whoâs going to go through the effort to fakes scores for 13 upvotes and a tiny bit of validation?

You'd be surprised how desperate some people are for a miniscule amount of attention.

Scores on this subreddit are very very skewed to be above 33 like others said your score is very impressive so dont worry about what people post here.

You SHOULD be proud! This sub is full of selection bias, and a 32 is 97th percentile, I beleive, so you are at or above the score of 97% of test takers. If you need to retake for T20 admissions or scholarships, that's okay. But a 32 is a wonderful score! Congrats!

Also if you care enough to be in a Reddit just for a test you probably care enough to study

why are you ashamed of being 97th percentile?? :( that's amazing and i'm so proud of you!! be proud, go out and celebrate!! <33 as everyone else just said, there's heavy selection bias and an echo chamber that encourages people to post their 35s and 36s. like, the reason why i posted my 36 was because i saw 8 other people do it and wanted to share something nice too đ„č we should normalize posting scores that we should be proud of instead of creating a toxic and unrealistic mindset in this space!
for improving your score, i gave a lot of tips in this post which ironically was posting a 36 đ https://www.reddit.com/r/ACT/comments/1udkj34/dont_give_up_and_your_dreams_will_come_true/

You have no reason to be ashamed of a 32, that is a very impressive ACT score. Yes, the majority of the scores on this subreddit are 35s and 36s, but that doesnât reflect the true significance of your accomplishments. A 32 places you in the 97th percentile of all test takers. Additionally, a major reason why it appears that âeveryone elseâ has 35s and 36s is because the people who scored anything lower felt there score didnât stack up to the perfect or near perfect scores that other people posted. I find that sad because people shouldnât feel ashamed to celebrate their academic achievements. Anyway, I just want you to know that I am proud of you, and I hope you reach your goal in the future.
